As above, total European Supra allocation for production year 1 was just 900 cars. For a region with a population over 700 million people. Please keep some perspective. There was never any doubt they would find 900 buyers amongst a customer base of 700 million. So its sold out in Europe and Japan, but according to the internet it's a sale flop.
Selling a tiny production allocation does not equal a sales success. If Toyota Europe sold just 900 Corollas (or Auris?) in Europe, or Porsche sold just 900 Caymans, no-one would call it a sales success! Edit - just looked up Cayman numbers, they sell between 3 and 4,000 a year in Europe. And a Cayman is hardly a common manās high volume sportscar!
The tiny production numbers for the Supra are in some ways a blessing, because it means they should sell every one they make. There are enough fans and true believers to sell a couple thousand each year. If by some miracle they ramped production up to higher numbers, say 30,000+ a year, then we might see if they still sell every one they make.
Iām not saying its a bad car! Just pointing out the ultra low production numbers mean you canāt say much about true demand, compared with a situation where production was much higher.
