Maybe I'm just overreacting/thinking too much on this so I just want to get everyone's thoughts lol. I just put on two new NT555r2s in the rear and am in the middle of dialing in my jb4 custom maps (93 and E-30 map but still working on 93). Does flooring the car from 30-80mph with a little bit of spinning for the logs going to wear the new tires quickly or maybe not as bad as I thought? I almost wished I would've kept the stock tires on until I'm done dialing in both maps but due to safety-related concerns, I decided to slap them on for safe measures. I probably got anywhere between 10-20 runs for the logs thus far on the new tires. TIA!!

I currently have them set to 25 psi. Yeah, I'm just worried about all these pulls I'm doing and potentially unnecessarily wearing them out :/

Being a 100tw tire Iv been impressed with the grip and how they are wearing so far. I don’t do burnouts and mostly roll races, minimal spin

Man I've had those exact same tires on the rear of my car now for close to 3,000 miles. This car is 100% a pleasure vehicle. I've done some gnarly ass burn-outs to warm up the tires before trying to perfect my 0-60 times and 1/4 times on some old ass, barely driven backroads, and 90% of my driving is very spirited. These tires still have plenty of tread and still hook just fine. I'm also MHD custom tuned on E40. Car made about 505whp and 550wtq.

Don't over think it. The tires are there to help you hook better so that you can enjoy the extra power that you've decided to add to your car. The increased rate of wear is the price you pay to put that power to the ground effectively, but they aren't going to just evaporate lol.

I did a lot of research on these tires before I purchased them. Most people who daily drive or street drive their vehicles with these tires average about 10-15k miles per set, strongly depending on driving habits. That, in my mind, makes them worth the price to performance.

I can’t give you any data on the 555R2’s as I don’t run them yet. I run NT05R’s and have seen many state the R2’s last longer And hook better. my 05R’s hook great and i have 5k easy on them, and that’s with a 1500 mile round trip from Texas to here bringing the car home and a few Las Vegas to SoCal trips. A couple times at the strip and countless times on the street at the local “prepped” spot. Also idk how many pulls tuning and 60-130 and they look about half worn out. PO of the car stated he had maybe 1k miles on them. So about 6k miles or so total. I do plan on swapping them on the wheels so the outside will be the inside rolling the same direction of course just to wear them a little more evenly. I know 3 friends with boosted high HP Mustang builds and they love them. So I’ll be switching to R2’s next (don’t really have a choice since the 05’s been discontinue which is disappointing since they look soooo mean)

probably so he doesn’t spin too much? That’s the lowest you can run before you start getting the annoying low air pressure ⚠
Haha. I'm right at 25psi and its giving me the light. I believe 26 or 27 psi shut it off if I remember correctly (when the light went off). I'd have to test again.

Damn, wish I had these problems, still on factory PSS and even with hitting the kickdown from low speeds with traction fully off it won’t spin halfway through second gear or beyond. Basically only first for roasting tires! I might have got a factory dud! ;)

I would've gone with these tires in the rear but my drive to work is 40 miles so they wouldn't last me very long. Sticking with 300TW for now, if warmed up on a low psi the PS4S do hook in 2nd from a 40 roll. I'm around ~460whp

I did end up purchasing the r2 in the rear with the g2 up front. Should be mounted after the holidays. Went with 275/35/19 Front, 305/35/19 Rear and they look like good sizes

I’ve been getting 5-6k miles out of my 555r2 I run them at 28psi on the street and 25 for rolls at the track. No digs
5-6k??? damn. i daily mine, no races, just enjoying the tune...i'm at like 13k and replacing soon. If i did rolls etc i'd imagine 8-10k miles but i'm more conservative i guess.
