I've been getting the error in the image below, which I believe is causing a CEL and was wondering if anyone knows what might be going on?

My battery is less than two years old; the car starts without an issue; she's placed on a tender most of the time and BimmerLink reports the battery as being over 90%.

Has anyone else had this happen?

Could this be an artefact of disconnecting the battery while it was waiting for FEMTO and would re-registering the battery via BimmerLink likely fix this problem?

I had my battery disconnected twice, had to send ecu out twice to FEMTO. I never had an issue or CEL after reconnecting it. Is it a OEM battery? Did you register the battery when and if you changed it via Bimmerlink? Maybe that's all that needs to be done.

My battery hasn't been changed. It was just disconnected for two weeks while my DME went to FEMTO and now I'm getting these errors. That's why I'm confused and not sure what to do as I assume the battery is fine, my car just doesn't seem to know it is.

Put it on a proper battery charger and leave it for 4 hours + and then see how it goes.

030E08 should not cause a check engine light, but rather would have a “low battery“ warning that pops up on iDrive.

Have you scanned to see what other faults are present? (There’s almost always other faults present on these cars, it’s just a question of what will result in a CEL).

No battery fault appears on iDrive but I do get an oil wear warning and sometimes a tyre pressure warning after I flash a tune. These errors go away after a few drives, however.

I'll take a look at the other warnings next time I get a CEL and report back.

I can’t comment on the errors that come up after applying a tune (although I’ve seen similar posts) but the battery error in particular shouldn’t throw a CEL per the data on BMWfault.codes and personal experience with my G20 and a low battery.

It is interesting if you clear 030E08 and it comes back, but hopefully that’s not the case and it’s a stale code. I’m not familar with the software you’re using, but some (e.g. BimmerLink) will show the mileage for when the code was generated. I can’t remember off hand if that data is available along with this particular code though.

Happens to me every time I reflash. I just clear the code and it doesn't come back. Can also register the battery in MHD and it has solved that as well.

What's a proper charger? All I have is a CTEK trickle charger.
Same! Left mine on this before and after FEMTO. I think I get the same code, but it clears after a drive cycle.

Ah! Where can you register the battery with MHD? Same code here, but it clears without issue.

A proper charger designed to punch some real amperage into the battery. Trickle chargers sometimes just don't have the grunt to bring an AGM battery that's down in charge back to a fully charged state. Pretty cheap at Supercheap or Auto barn or I could lend you one.
Here's some info on Odyssey batteries used as it's referencing AGM batteries. Scroll down to the charging paragraphs

I reached out to MHD a few times and they emphatically deny that their flash has anything to do with the iDrive/battery errors. While they might not have a direct link, I'm pretty confident there is some kind of indirect link, since these errors only appear after a flash!

Codes > Reset Adaptations > Register Battery
Thanks. I'll look at this and try a reset. Shouldn't matter that my battery isn't new? I'm over these bullshit errors!

The CTEK charger fully recharges my battery no problem. BimmerLink reports it as 98% after a day or two. ?‍♂
