Hey man,

Wondering if you have installed the Millway subframe bushings? Would be keen to hear your impression of it.

Cheers!
While I was doing the job last week, I took my subframe to a shop, and they managed to damage my subframe while removing the OEM Diff Bushing. They had the right tools but they didn’t use them.
just got the new subframe, will update once the car is done. Might take time, as I won’t be around to finish the job.
Will give street feedback once it’s done, and track feedback once track season is back, which is late October/November in here.

For whatever it's worth:

I have billet subframe and differential bushings. It noticeably improved the car's tendency to step out to the right. However, if you've never experienced the howling of ring and pinion gears: you will become intimately familiar, very quickly. Pretty much any RPM between 50-60MPH will do.

Track people definitely won't give a shit, if they even hear it at all on the course. But if you're a street driver, maybe think again until you get seat time in a car with these mods.

Don't even try to tackle this job without a bearing/bushing push and press set. It'll cut hours of brutal, laborious work down to a few minutes of working a wrench. Don't forget to freeze and lubricate the bushings before attempting to insert them. The colder they are, the easier it'll be.

Would just billet subframe bushings and oem rubber diff bushings make you go insane with diff whine?
Maybe. I have another car with billet subframe bushings and Shore 60A diff bushings. The differential still howls, but it's quieter than full billet and only becomes particularly noticeable on deceleration. I do not know if the Supra chassis would respond in the same manner (e.g. different metals, difference resonant frequencies, different empty cavities, etc.).

Sad but true. My car could be used as a test vehicle on how to find out where all the noises are coming from & correct em course - for mechanics ofc. Hint for any mechanics out there that want solid practice ?

Sorry to hear they damaged the subframe.

It'll be great to have your road and track impression of it.

Cheers!

Hey man,

So the installation was done few weeks ago.
The car is completely different.
But I’d like to mention that I changed most suspension components, so I don’t know where’s the difference coming from.
The mods are: HKS Hipermax R coilovers, Full SPL Parts (- front The Tie Rod Ends), Torque solution transmission mount, and I had the Verus engine mounts for more than a year.

All my current impressions are from street use.
In terms of handling The turn in is way sharper, I am afraid to push it with my old tires and current weather (36-50°C). But everytime I try, I know there is way more left in it. I can feel every bump on the road so it’s not that comfortable, our roads are not forgiving either.
I still need to dial in the alignment and the suspension, I took it to a credible shop. However, they didn’t get the specs right for some reason. It’s even sits higher in the passenger side, which is normal with the supra, but can be fixed with the right adjustments.
The vibration between 90-130 km/h (around 55-75 mph) are crazy, specifically when in 6th gear. You can hear some dif whine, but Toyo R888R whine might be louder (or my exhaust is loud now).
The way the exhaust noise is transmitted through the cabin is completely different, I love how it sounds now, but it’s loud. Not too friendly for a daily, but I enjoy it for some reason - all of it, not just the noise.
I’ll attach a picture of how the car sits, it’s on 18ā€ TE37 Saga S-Plus.
Front tire are 275/40/18
Rears are 295/35/18
I’ll go 275/35/18 Front, as there is some rubbing with the thick sidewall and my current caster specs.
I’m writing this from the top of my head without proof reading so if there is more info you need let me know.

Update.
So track season is here and I’ve completed two rounds of the Time attack. Had troubles with alignment when I first installed everything but got it all dialed in before the Time attack events.
In short the, the car handles amazing it’s a completely different beast - I added power mods too.
You can easily predict what the car is about to do, not sure if it’s from all the solid bushings or the suspension arms and alignment. But I’m more confident to push the car through corners with minimal oversteer/understeer.
So far I Tried it at BIC (Bahrain International Circuit) and KMT (Kuwait Motor Town).
Managed to beat my PB by over 3 seconds at BIC inner circuit, and set a new class record.
It was my first time at KMT (national circuit I think), and damn did it impress me, it has alot of high speed corners and the car just kept giving me more - until
I sent it to the gravel, which was 100% my fault.
Now I’m wondering what will aero do 🧐, but I think I’m already broke šŸ’”.
