Those of you waiting in the DMV, my dealer just hit me. The hold up for inspection was for an even worse reason --- Vehicle damaged in transit.

My VIN is being replaced with a new one; let me know if anyone else suffered the same fate. I'm interested in what happened.
from your dealer, do you know if this damage was specific to your vehicle or a fleet of vehicles?

Let me ask if they know. It has been at the port for almost two weeks with the original expected date of the 22nd for dealer arrival.

Very ironic you ask this. Last week I asked in the LE VIN thread if anyone noticed the spreadsheet had 1544 VINs; seemed odd at the time but in the event of an accident what would Toyota do?

Either all 1500 weren't allocated or they are going to swap plates (entirely possible because it doesn't appear VIN and plate have any relationship).

The new VIN and sheet reflect LE as well.

That's interesting because the one in Leesburg was supposed to be red up until a week before launch... it was delayed and now when they called me they said they're getting a black one. Hope that's not the case with mine that's supposed to be here next week

Sounds to me like there may be more damages; port inspection certainly wouldn't take this long. Hell, I should have slid in there ask for Absolute Zero. lol

I’m thinking the same thing, ask for a white one lol the problem with the white one is that it might do the same as my white 86..the rear bumper is not an exact match of the rest of the car white and will fade yellowish with time.

well I don't know about the damages, but my car arrived at the dealer on Friday and for some reason this dealer service center isn't open on Saturdays. Anyhow they were open from 7:30 to 8PM tonight and they're still working to resolve the "software" issue. They believe the radar sensor is the culprit. I'm beginning to think something may have been damaged, or they are showcasing the car or something?¿. I'm super annoyed about this issue. I've told them a million times that I will sign waivers if need be that I will not sue, or if I die or whatever, my next of kin will not, etc... whatever they want to write, I'm ready to sign. If it's a faulty sensor, I told them a new one can take weeks to get. It's stupid to wait for a part that's optionally added especially one that you can press a button and disable!
It's one thing to have a date for arrival and another to actually see but not be able to take possession of it. At this point, not sure if I'm lucky or unlucky..

Don’t bother calling Toyota about the launch model delays to dealers. They are clueless and deflect you back to the dealer. They will not answer specific questions as to why base and premium models are at dealers/sold already before launch models. Launch models first 1500 made still sitting in ports while models made after them have been shipped and sold. You will get corporate canned lines read to you and no information to answer this question. Very aggravating and has soured my excitement for the car with their handling of this launch. Don’t know who’s running this show but it’s a huge failure. They at the very least should have information for customers buying their car. The lack of information is what has me boiling.

If you’re curious give them a call. It’s like talking to yourself.

I feel like the launch of the 2020 Supra is the most unorganized launch in automotive history. Toyota stated that the first 1500 LE's would be sold, then followed by the regular trims. And the only way to distinguish that it's a LE is by looking at the window sticker. I think you could buy a regular supra, add the red mirror caps and matte black wills to make it look like an LE. They should have done like a special color for LE's like TRD Pros. Then it truly would have made the LE's special.

To TMS defense, they never said all LEs would arrive on the 22nd. They told the dealers that they will begin shipping to them the week of the 22nd and continue the week after and possibly extend past those two weeks.
