I paid for mine 3 weeks before delivery, and without issue. As long as they know the VIN number they can do everything. The only thing they can't do is apply for the tag. You also don't need to put insurance on it until you actually take possession according to my agent, which is what I did.

Got it, yup I have the VIN, they gave that to me about a month ago.

I better check with my insurance agent to double check my state laws, but thanks for the info!

Insurance companies may not yet recognize the Supra VINs -- Nationwide did not when I attempted to add it to my account online to see a quote -- had to call in. I believe someone else here reported the same thing. So you might need to talk to a human to set it up and obtain proof of insurance (which dealers in some states need to see before they can let you drive off the lot).

Seems like every time I buy a new model or an early model year release, this happens, and it requires some extra steps when completing the purchase at a dealer. Rarely I can just punch the VIN in and see the car recognized and get set up.

I paid for mine 3-4 weeks ago. Don’t need insurance till I drive it off the lot. I would be more worry that they didn’t want to do the paperwork and take payment. Specially if they don’t know where the car is. Maybe they sold it to another dealer or customer.

Got it. Called insurance they said I am covered for 30 days regardless if I told them I bought it or not. So all is good there....I would think I will have the car within 30 days....but who knows. Ha

All paperwork signed and completely. Took all of about 5 minutes. All set to go, just need a car to go along with the paperwork.

Curious to know if all LE's came with CF mirror caps. My paperwork and 2 other dealer' showed it as included accessory all along, but having seen all pictures from the docks/ports I was expecting the red caps on the car with CF in the trunk or something.. anyhow mine came with CF, so I'm curious to know who gets the red ones??? Were they pictures of ports outside US??? or only some LE's in US got optional CF's. So confused..
I'm happy to get CF, but I also felt red added color to white car. From distance and weight-wise CF is indistinguishable from black caps...
Yes, i know it can be painted/wrapped, just trying to understand..

All of the Launch editions are red. Dealers added the black carbon fiber covers to make a buck.

Hmmm, strange. That would be different than the Toyota press release and what everyone has been reporting.

Maybe your car is the holy grail....the one LE car with black mirrors.

Look at your spec sheet. If you see 995$ tacked on... you dealer just lied to you.

All are red. CF is an add on by the customer, dealer and possibly even Toyota. Mine is coming with them. I think they make the red cars stand out more. But yeah would be nice if they left the red ones in the trunk lol I need to find the part number for the red ones now.

Red caps are standard on LE. Carbon fiber caps would be a port-installed accessory if it's on the main window sticker. I have seen a few LE Supras spec'd that way. If that is the case, the caps would already be on the car when it arrives.

well spec sheet is below, I don't have the car yet, because of software issue, I think they had removed the window sticker. I'll check hopefully on Monday. They said, they need to check/consult/verify by Toyota before they do things. I'm told a software upgrade is needed...

Wow, if I recall that's just about every dealer installed extra that was even offered. Crazy.
