I parked it, after 1877.3 miles of driving over the last 11 days. Spent time in Brevard NC, on the roads and hiking trails, and then a few days in Asheville and surrounds. Blue Ridge Parkway, as always, was amazing, but there are still so many closure points that it is a lot of up and back, and then driving to the next open section.
Come to North Georgia. I got you on the un-closed real mountain roads.

That (North Georgia) was in the original plan when it was just my son and me, but then the wife and I decided to spend our birthday weekend in Asheville and plans changed.

I live in the Asheville area. Hope you were able to find some good driving over here during your stay. My normal routes I took for weekend drives were devastated by the hurricane last year (I live in the Chimney Rock/Bat Cave area). My main route is almost done being paved, so I can't wait. Luckily most of the side roads I took on Blue Ridge Parkway weren't affected as bad.

Spent five days in Brevard and found plenty of decent drives. Traffic was generally light. Tried to do the Black Mountain to Bat Cave run but it was still restricted to local traffic only.

My wife and I love the area so we’ve spent lots of time there and have been following the damage and cleanup efforts.

Got the video from the rainy session last week.
It’s a long video of cars lapping the track slowly under the rain. Nothing groundbreaking.
the goal was to test a good platform to put my track videos in the future.
Synchronizing multiple video feeds, mixing sound (here missing the MAIN SOUND track), placing lap labels, animating labels following cars etc.
this is what I do when I have nothing else to do.
missing here: sound track for engine/exhaust, one camera feed and the telemetry from the car and the timing… work in progress.

Careful, eBay / China CF is a real gamble. Last part I ordered was a rear lip but the fitment was so bad I could use it as a toilet seat. I'm done with Alifiber parts.

I stick with reputable sellers and good reviews on Alifiber. I mean just look at the yellow drl modules. $40 bucks on baba but retailers in the US resell them for $300...

AliExpress is a roll of the dice. Selecting based on reviews is better than buying blind but I find it's still a throw of the dice. Usually well worth it, mind you.. but still pretty hit and miss.

Between waiting months for wheels, dealing with wrong parts, and breaking stuff while trying to fix it, it’s more headache than fun. Sometimes these Supra projects feel like a test of patience rather than a joyride.
Over the years, I have two great degree, except for a few little add-ons always kept my vehicles stock. It's not as much fun. It's not as cool looking but you don't suffer the consequences of parts that are not meant to be there. They don't really fit quite right to throw a torsion on somewhere that should not have it. My supra is basically stock except for a couple of small items runs great has lots of power and very enjoyable, but I totally understand the pursuit of something more for the joy of it sadly too many manufacturers that create these aftermarket products don't fully investigate them or are just greedy and want the money without fully testing what they're making and that is unfortunate.

If not tracking or going for an aesthetic look, I totally get it. But when you start wearing the OEM parts out (such as doing things that require more grip, fight heat, etc.), then… you gots to do what you gots to do.

It’d be similar to if my house didn’t come with crown molding or hurricane windows & I put them in later ;). She’s got the bones & parts available to do it.
