We chased a GT3 RS. Witnessed the active aero very close
Lesson learned:
That car spits out pebbles at you. One cracked our windshield.

Nice. Can't tell if that's a 991 or a 992. Matching the 992 GT3 RS MR lap times is my ultimate goal for my track/time attack build. Not gonna happen anytime soon. I don't think most people realize the significant differences between the 991 and 992. A 991 doesn't intimidate me. A 992, especially the MR....anyone who downplays how fast that specific version is just hasn't come up against one on track driven by a semi-competent driver.

I wouldn’t know the difference. I thought the double rear wing with the active aero was unique to a model.

Needless to say that car In front of me was beautiful. And it was probably being driven by a blind person (but not a beginner because was driving solo 🤷🏻‍♂️🤷🏻‍♂️🤷🏻‍♂️) because I lifted a few times: at my low level of skill I’m not allowed to pass in turns. I’m sure a dozen guys here would’ve chewed that person.

Still - since I’m not racing, I’m gonna take it as a massive core memory to see THAT CAR right in Front of me for most that session.

Such a common thing at Homestead. And like you said, especially behind bigger gummier tires. I got a windshield protector after going through 3 expensive windshield replacements. I’ve had the windshield condom on over a year and probably time to change it again. Regardless, great thing to have since you’re driving Homestead often and getting faster. You’ll be following closer and it’s nice to know your protected ;)

Something like this 👇

https://www.xpel.com/products/windshield-protection-film

Can’t remember the one I have. They tested it on my vehicle and the price was right = free. So far I’m McLovin 🍟 it!
yes. This is the one I was recommended. My windshield ended up with a 10 inch linear crack on the drivers side and has 20+ small chips on it. So after replacement I will go straight into windshield condom and PPF for the front. (Which - shame on me- I hadn’t done)

Front bumper has a ton of small full thickness chips, but I’m gonna take it the Japanese way:

“The scars of battle are beautiful and should be celebrated”

Solid - how's the heat rejection (if any?)
~ the heat rejection most likely comes from the 50% ceramic tint on the inside of the front window. i truly don’t believe the clearplex provides any heat rejection.

~ I have clearplex on mine. It’s worked out very well for me.

I had clearplex and after a year and a half I had it removed. It was great at first, but over time it got more and more annoying to see through, especially at night. There were micro scratches from using the wipers that were unable to be buffed out.

Is it not self healing? A quick hit with a heat gun to sort out the wiper marks?
