Looking over my car due to having issues (see separate post), I was checking the coolant levels etc.

I looked at the larger capped one, which I believe does the radiator and turbo etc. That had the standard HT-12 green BMW coolant in it.

The smaller capped reservoir which I believe is for the intercooler had a clear liquid in it.

My question is, should they BOTH use the HT-12 green BMW coolant?? It's a used supra so I have no clue what the old owner used, and what the clear liquid is, water or a clear coolant.

If they are both supposed to use HT-12, how do I drain the intercooler reservoir?

Hello. You need HT-12 in both tanks. You see that the procedure for bleeding the cooling circuit is very complicated and you have to do it because you don't know if the previous owner did what was right, he probably didn't if he didn't put HT-12 there too. I'll send you the procedure.

If there is water, remove it from the container with a hose and add concentrated HT12 until you reach a concentration of -30 degrees, if not, untie a hose somewhere but you still won't be able to drain it all, so you will still have to measure the concentration with a tester.

Thanks everyone! I assumed both needed HT-12 but wanted to make sure before I did anything. Really appreciate the information
