Did anybody notice the Toyota Supra in the pit lane at Monaco today?
This is a shot I took off the TV!

Supra at Monaco.webp
🤣

Ironic I found this here…

I’ve been watching formula 1 for a while.
Like a lot of folks I got hooked during the boredom of Covid.
I watch all the practice and quali sessions + races pretty religiously.

Ive been thinking about getting a Supra off and on for years, since like 2021 or so. Looked into it a few times but timing just didn’t feel right.

That Monaco weekend I kept seeing that Supra at the pit exit and every time I was thinking damn that thing looks so good. I started checking dealer listings and cars in transit on the Toyota website and I found a few in transit.
After some inquiries many were reserved or sold already but some were available. I ended up with this one in an MT!

Had it not been for that Supra photobombing in Monaco I wouldn’t have gotten the itch again and probably would have never bought it. Turned out to be like one of the last ones too.

Funny how life works…

I was wondering if anyone else would notice it. It caught my eye immediately. Congrats on the new Supra.

Welcome to the club. I've been an F1 fan since long before it was on TV (except maybe for Monaco). I raced several different sports cars and bought my Supra at the end of 2024 (a new 2025 model). I've done track days at Barber, Sebring, Daytona and Road Atlanta. It has 8K on the odometer and runs like a top. Only a couple of cosmetic alterations.

Please join in the F1 chatter here. It's been pretty tame this season. We had 2 very avid Max fans here last year. I know one moved on to a Corvette. I don't know where the other one is at. So far, I'm very much enjoying the 2026 season. The new rules make for more passing... and it seems some (not all) of the older drivers don't seem to deal with the ICE/electric split as well as some of the younger drivers.

It was the same for me and I hadn’t bought one quite yet!
Thanks!
I love it, such a great driving and fun car.
The manual is great too!

That’s awesome, I love racing but the cost has been prohibitive for me for the most part to partake in lol.

Yes, F1 has been great the last few years and have enjoyed it quite a bit.
Always gets interesting after big changes shake things up, for better or worse.
I like most of the drivers, including Max but have been growing partial to Kimi since he joined.
I enjoyed watching him last year and he’s already grown quite a bit, he has a good personality too.
It’s fun watching him rattle George lol.
My 13 year old son is a big Max fan.

My weekends always feel a little emptier on non-F1 weekends lol.
I used to have F1 TV and already had Apple TV so the move to there has been good, saved me another subscription.
The video and audio quality on Apple TV is great so that’s another plus.

I’ll keep an eye on this thread now that I found it!

I really didn't care much for Max when he was walking away with everything. To me, he seemed pretty arrogant. Everybody treated him like there is no better driver, but the truth is, he had a VERY dominate car. And now he has a car that is less than the best and a teammate that is challenging him. I think Max doesn't like the new ICE/Electric balance.

But now that he is more like 'just one of the guys' driver in an OK car, I'm liking him much better. But I don't think he is very happy with the current situation in F1 or at Red Bull (since Christian and Adrian left).

Max has been discussed here a lot. I'd bet the truth is in the middle - he's a little more (fill in the blank) than most, but not nearly as much as reported. Gotta respect him either way.

I don't have any subscriptions to watch races but tend to keep up online when they're running. Nothing this weekend, Belgium next week. I suppose anyone reading this thread already knows.

For discussion's sake I kinda like Hamilton enough I secretly hope he can get another championship. I'm not expecting him too but perhaps the move to Ferrari will work out after all. A bit ago they seemed like the better team, but now I'm not sure if Mercedes isn't better once again. It'd be interesting to know (of course we never will) where he'd be sitting right now if he had never switched.

Agreed, I also think he is enjoying other forms of racing more than F1 right now.
They don’t pay like F1 does though and now he has a family to worry about.
Having a kid changes you, it’s different for everyone but it definitely changes you.
Will be curious to see if he sticks around or changes teams though.

The truth of things usually does land somewhere in the middle.
There’s no doubt Max has a lot of talent and he has always been pretty aggressive, even in his carting days.

It takes more than just driver talent to succeed in F1 though, the car and the team play such a huge role.
One small mistake in strategy, a poorly timed or executed pit stop, or an incorrectly fastened piece of hardware can cost you the race.
Thats one thing I do like about F1 though, it really is a team sport and most of the team plays a large role in success (or failure).

I like Lewis, he has loads of talent and he seems like a genuinely nice guy.
You can see it every time he has success or failure.
For better or worse he lets his emotions out.
I don’t think that’s a bad thing, but sometimes I think he’s too hard on himself.
I like seeing him on the Podium again, it seems like he gets along well with Kimi too.
