My insurance in SoCal is about $600 a year with a $500 deductible and 5000 annual miles. This is full coverage with 300k liability and is one of my multiple cars.
Do you mind sharing who your insurance provider is? I am with Mercury and I am paying several times of what you are. And I have good driver discount!!!

26yr old male, never made collision claims, only comprehensive for glass, and never received any tickets.
$1572/yr or $131/mo
Full coverage and $250 collision deductible
Car is noted as commuter around 12k miles annually.

Quotes I received from Safeco and Allstate were ridiculous, around $2000/yr and $4000/yr, respectively.

EDIT: I should mention this is with homeowners insurance combined discount.

You would save a lot of money increasing your deductible to $1000. Since you've never made a claim, why have such a low deductible? With the money you save, you can stash that money away for when you need the $1000. You should be able to save $1000 in a short time

Just checked with my agent because what youā€™re saying makes sense, but oddly enough increasing collision deductible from $250 to $500 results in a $10/yr increase in premium. My agent said there are more variables at play when changing the deductible amount than the deductible amount alone in calculating the premium, but this doesnā€™t make sense even to her. Then from $250 to $1000 as you suggested, the savings is only $10/yr. I figured there would have been more savings but it sounds like Iā€™ll keep my $250 deductible haha.

This doesn't make sense at all, I think your agent wants you to pay the higher premiums at $250 deductible.

If you ever tried to get an insurance quote from a competing company, you'll know your agent is pulling a fast one on you

I don't think that smoking marijuana on a daily basis can actually lead to a positive result. I've heard CBD oil is effective and way more healthier than weed.

2021 Supra in British Columbia, Canada: $697 for the ICBC minimum liability insurance plus $963.56 for BCAA optional insurance with $1,000 deductible, comprehensive, collision, an additional $1.8 million liability, "Preferred Driver Package", and "Replacement Cost Plus". The ICBC term is 1 year but the BCAA term is 364 days because I bought the insurance the day after buying the car.
