A few days ago, but got around to hardwiring my dash cam. Pretty happy with the results. Barely drops into my FOV behind the mirror.

Finally hardwired the radar detector. No more cord hanging down in my FOV.

Valentine one? If so is it the new one the the old one? I want to get a new one but am torn between that and the Uniden R7.

yeah it’s a V1. It’s a gen 1. I looked at the gen 2 and it’s nice with all sorts of new tech. but they did away with the analog volume knob which I love. Still may pick one up though. Always used Valentine 1 detectors and they’ve saved my ass more than once

Ok I had a gen 1 but got stolen years ago. Haven’t needed one on my daily as it doesn’t go fast enough. But I have heard that the uniden r7 is better that v1 so been researching both. Did not know that removed the analog knob, that could make it annoying to turn down alerts.

I went from the R7 to the V1 gen 2... and it's night and day difference. The V1 is SO much quieter around town and the range is unreal. I thought the R7 was awesome... well, the V1g2 is unbelievable.
