Unless I’m missing your meaning, the panel in the bottom grill is for the cruise control sensor.

I was meaning that small flat area in the right side grill. I think that's where the air box tube is.

Yes, stock subs....Here is a link below to what I did awhile back which made a huge difference ...I'm extremely pleased with the results...Bass response is noticeably lower and punchier and vibrational noise is gone...I can now listen to the sound system at 3/4 volume and the bass kicks ass!
