We didn't bother taking the whole coilover out of the car on the front, so didn't do that bit. Just undid the top nut in the engine bay, disconnected the wiring and brake line holder near the coilover , then loosened one of the lower control arm bolts. That gives you enough movement on the knuckle to pull down on the spring and eventually wiggle the top of the coilover out the side of the wheel arch so you can take the spring off. I'm making a video of us doing install and although its not a how to guide, it might help. The video isn't finished yet but I'll put up what I've edited so far in a minute and post it here just in case it helps anyone out.Thank you @ChrisD for the review!! Question for you, what did you do when you reached the step pictured? Did you just take a chisel or pry bar? Did you use a special tool? Thanks again!
While the video is uploading, here's what it ends up looking like once you get the spring off just to give you an idea. As you can see its still connected to the knuckle at the bottom of the strut, and you just compress the spring and pull down then point the whole thing out the wheel arch and pull the spring off
