Say hello to the newest addition to our PRL Motorsports family! Our A90 MKV Toyota Supra is finally here after being jerked around by two different local dealerships over the past few weeks. We want to give thanks to Spitzer Toyota of Monroeville for the great price on this Absolute Zero White 2020 GR Supra 3.0 Premium and for always being a pleasure to deal with.

First Impressions:

This car is extremely quick and feels solid right out of the box. The A90 Supra seems to be built/engineered rather well with quality components. We feel that the exhaust tone sounds extremely nice from the factory, offering an aggressive grumble and crackle, especially in sport mode, without being too unbearable. We had no problems breaking the tires loose upon aggressive takeoff, which left us with a smile on our faces.

At a Glance:

The tight engine bay and arguably overly-engineered Supra looks to leave performance part manufacturers like ourselves with a bit of a struggle to design and fit upgrades. But hey, we like a challenge. ;)

The factory exhaust tubing measures 80mm to dual 70mm, which allows for quite a bit of exhaust flow. We don't expect to see much, if any, gains to be had from an aftermarket catback exhaust system. However, we do anticipate gains from a downpipe upgrade by the removal of the factory catalytic converter and replacing it with a high flow unit and/or Race version without.

The factory intake system utilizes a rather large air box, large dry panel filter and mufflers to suppress sound (lame ). Though we expect this to breathe rather well, this large space should allow us adequate room for a proper, higher of airflow volume upgrade.

As with most any factory forced induction vehicle with, especially with a water-to-air heat-exchanger in a tight engine bay, we suspect that this car can benefit from some sort of upgrade.

We are currently strapping down our test mule to the DynoJet as we speak to establish a baseline power output number, test our theories and see what we can find. Stay tuned for data, more input and updates on our with our product line!

We've been busy putting our FARO Technologies 3D scanner to use with the shop car. We're excited to see what kind of ideas and data we can come up with!

I think you'd potentially do a great service to the community and make $$$ if you were to find ways to make those vents work. Not a Faro job per say, but if you can or have the 3D CAD model along with physical access to the vehicle, perhaps a method could be worked out.
If I owned a shop and was willing to take apart the parts at this stage, I'd work on this.

A90 MKV Toyota Supra Product Development – Intake & Charge Pipe Upgrade

We have been working on a few goodies for the MKV A90 Supra over the past few months. Here’s a sneak peak of the intake system and charge pipe kit we’ve designed!

Our Silicone Inlet Hose Upgrade Kit is designed to replace the restrictive corrugated factory hose with a stronger, larger diameter, smoother flower 4-ply silicone hose. We increased the compressor inlet diameter by 30% and maintained a long, smooth transition to 87mm at the outlet of the air box. This kit utilizes a 62mm compressor inlet flange to allow maximum airflow to the stock turbocharger and any drop-in turbocharger upgrade. (For reference, a 35R-sized turbocharger utilizes a 62mm inlet.) The inlet flange smoothly transitions from 74mm to 62mm over a 32mm length to reduce turbulence. Also, our kit removes factory air dampeners/silencers, so customers can expect to hear more audible intake noise.

Please note that this kit does eliminate the integrated CCV valve, so a tune is required.

Silicone Inlet Hose Upgrade Kit can be purchased separately or paired with our Drop-In Panel Filter Upgrade for optimal performance, this combination with constitute our Stage 1 Intake System.

Over the years BMW’s plastic charge tubing have become known for failure due to age and excessive heat. Our Charge Pipe Upgrade Kit is designed to replace the problematic factory unit with our direct bolt-on, 1-piece upgrade. This kit utilizes 3.00” OD .065” wall aluminum tubing, a billet compressor outlet flange and a 4-ply silicone hose connector for optimal airflow and strength. The inlet flange transitions from the factory 48 mm compressor outlet to 56 mm over a 10 mm span, which reduces a step, then smoothly tapers the 73 mm ID of the 3.00” tubing. Kits will come standard with an integrated methanol injection bung and sleek sensor billet flange location.

No tune required!

I hate to overshadow the product release, but with lots of controversy over CCV valve removal and it's pros/cons, I'd be curious to know what PRL's take on it and what's advised. Catch Can? something else? Thanks!

So this still isn't super clear, the defined function of that system is not set and seems to be "open" all the time? We wanted to keep it routed as factory and using the tuning software to delete the code. This is similar to the larger turbo upgrades on the market for this platform to allow for the larger turbo inlet. Hope to have more information for you in the future on this, but right now that will serve as a nice peace of mind setup until further information is acquired on this platform regarding the CCV valve.

"CCV Valve is Removed"

Are you talking about the port on the stock intake pipe that has the two wire plug going to it? If so, its not a valve. Its a PCV heater. Thats if you're talking about what i think you're talking about.
