Just picked up a 2021 premium . I was trying to decide between a used i8 , used GTR or a new supra . Went with the new supra and that night ordered the HKS adjustable springs. They arrived a couple days later and now the hunt has begun for a shop that doesn't over charge for install or knocking them out over the weekend. So far ive received one import specialist shop said they wouldn't do it lol . Another said 500$ plus alignment too . And waiting on a 3rd . Im capable of doing it across a weekends time but I was hoping to find a shop that could knock it out in a couple hours and charge a decent price. Ive been in the game since early 2000s so I know 500$ for spring install is insane . Does anyone know of a reputable shop in the southern NJ area . I'm willing to travel up to a hour away.

appreciate the offer but unfortunately they are like 2.5 hrs from me and with traffic probably even more . Im trying to find something more local before I tackle it myself . in just that drive time I could knock out half of the install haha in my driveway . How do you like the ride on the hks? and also how far down are you adjusted ?

The ride is firmer than stock but still comfortable. Made it out of the city in one piece back down to VA. I have it adjusted with the perches the way they came from HKS.

Could you post some current pics would like to see where the wheel gap is? I was considering going as low as possible but didn't want to run into driveway clearance issues

$500 isnt too bad for a spring install, the fronts are the easiest and it's not like it's as easy as doing coilovers

To me it is , thats like roughly 7hr labor charge at 70$. I've done springs and coilovers on everything from Miatas to M3's to vipers . Normaly I like to tackle it myself , the reason I was looking for a shop is this new of a car id like to not mess anything up as there isn't ton of write ups yet. Realistically I feel like a shop should be able to do spring install for in 3hrs if they aren't messing around and just working. Unfortunately ive moved recently so a lot of my old connects are no longer near me. I most likely will end up doing it myself as saving 500$ = more supra mods lol

From what I have seen I believe the rears are way easier ! as they are a separate spring from the strut . No need to compress and reassemble the the strut assembly . The main worry im running into is dropping the front assembly out of the tower with out disconnecting the one bolt down low that is made to stretch when torqued to the correct setting. ive seen people reusing them with no issues but thats just one of my concerns. If I could find someone to throw them on for $300 id just not deal with it haha. But any more then that I gotta just tackle it myself and gain the knowledge in the process too maybe even do a write up for the forum for future members wanting to do their own install

The rears are cake to do. The fronts are a bit of a pain. You have to watch out for the height sensor (just disconnect and remove it prior). Also, you'll have to install it the ghetto way (slide the spring out from the top perch) unless you have the special tool to remove the strut.

yea thats what ive been seeing and was trying to avoid going that route but looks like its going to be my main option haha . didn't like how they were pushing on the whole assembly to get the strut out of the top perch

you might want to try SM auto in palisades park, nj.

Also, Check out this video. part of it shows what it takes to switch suspension.

They are way too far for me about 3.5 hrs . I’m going to tackle it myself here soon . I just don’t have a lot of garage space as I’m storing some bikes for the cold season currently where my work space would be . Appreciate the help though

I’m in the very southern tip on Delaware border . Takes me about 3 to 3.5 to get into nyc . All depends on turnpike traffic . No traffic I can do it in 2.5 but that never happens lol
