Had they used auto vs auto it wouldn't have end well for the Z because most reviewers have said the manual is better than the 9spd auto and many have said its not as great as zf8hp box in our cars.
I installed a aFe front sway bar and finally got my CF rear spoiler installed this weekend. I can't really feel much of a difference with the sway bar on the stiffest setting though.
If you actually read into most reviews that compare them you get the feeling the Z is more GT than Sports Car vs the Supra. But the Z is built on a GT car platform(Infiniti FM) and Supra/Z4 is a Sports Car Architecture platform paid for by Toyota/BMW. So Moto mentioning that was not surprising...
I'm not a fan of the interior especially the base variant but I can see the logic in what Nissan did. Many folks don't care for all that nice interior fluff and gadgets, just a blank canvas with 400hp at 41k. The base guys will spend more money modding most likely but it will be more tailored to...
For the folks who said the Z needs better tires guess which car had the least grippy tires?
Mach 1 (Cup 2 180tw)
Supra (P4S/PSS 300tw)
Z (S007 240tw)
It's just garbage excuses.
I get that you need to upgrade parts to run full E but on the stock system I still wouldn't push it past what the manufacturer says. If shit goes boom folks is on their own.
In our Supra manual it says the system can handle up to e25 which is a mixture of 11.2 gallons of 93 and 2.5 gallons of e85 since our tank is 13.7 gallons. I never go above 2.5 gallons of E even if I get a tune one day. I rather follow the BMW/Toyota engineers on this one
One thing that was sad about the Z is that it never kept the I6 heritage from beginning to end. This is why I'm happy that Toyota went with BMW so that every generation of Supra could have an I6 for continuity sake!
