Regarding limits of the manual transmission, it really depends on how you drive, shock loading is generally the easiest way to break them. Probably part of reason why BMW put clutch delay valves and dual mass flywheels on these cars, to protect the rest of the driveline.
FWIW heres an old post...
Sorry to see the trouble, I don't think I've ever seen positive feedback on CM... Anywhere. I would hope they would be genuinely interested in the failure and ask you to return the broken parts to do some sort of investigation and give some explanation of why parts failed. If this is something...
Finally had a chance to get under car. Reinstalled the nut, car drives fine, no more noises. Chassis stabilization error still present tho. I pulled the info/error code using Bimmerlink and the following persists, even after attempting to clear it with Bimmerlink:

Xclutch is supposed to show something for us at SEMA this week! Super excited about this ? I emailed them a few months ago, checked in with them today.

Hey Mike, I'm in Torrance and my name's Mike too ? I had my last two freebie oil changes done at Manhattan Beach Toyota. I had a generally good experience there, even asked them to save some of my engine oil for lab testing, they did exactly as I requested, car had no extra milage on it, came...
Your post resonates with me, but this last statement you made is something I really believe in. A real enthusiast would understand that every owner has their preferences and it doesn't make their choices objectively better or worse. If anyone gives you crap about your car and how its setup thats...
Can't get under the car right now, have a part identification question for you guys and questions on resolving a chassis stabilization error I got while in the middle of my first autocross recently (which was super fun BTW I'm hooked!).
In the middle of one of my later runs, I heard the cabin...
Took them a bit, I pinged them after a few days within ordering a knob, they were actually prompt and responsive to my emails. Finally got my blue slammer in the mail today. Man this thing is pretty. Cant wait to install it ?
I'm running Continental Extreme Contact Sport 02 street tires which apparently are very similar to PS4S. How'd 35psi hot feel?
Anyone else have recommendations? I haven't done autocross in years, have an event coming up. Not looking to be competitive, just looking to have some fun and improve...
That's probably the most succinct and "accurate" answer to the AT/MT question for the Supra I've heard. I completely agree with this having driven both cars.
Also welcome back and I had a gen 2 Viper before I got into an MT Supra. I really miss that car. The Supra is a much better all arounder...
I wouldn't buy an AT A90, ever. Personal preference. What's the fun in that? Sure, its quick but so is everyone else. If you're after pure speed and performance, AT is it. If you get satisfaction out of a manual box and three pedals, there is no substitute.
Although, first A90 I drove was an...
I wondered the same. In other news, whose gonna be the first to try X-clutch when they release it?!

The only other car on my radar these days besides the supra is a gen V Viper (well, maybe a few others ?). Stoked for you they are ridiculous right out of the box and they will never build a car like it again. Bump for you and enjoy the new car! ?
Given that the drivetrain is essentially BMW, I think it is best to determine what is working well for other B58 powered cars, of which there are quite a few, and determine what makes the Supra any different from them in terms of clutch fitment.
It seems that application to the Supra isnt on...
