Agreed.
I will add though that BMW electronics have been a bit of a pain in the butt. I guess that's most modern cars. Oh you looked at the the ride height sensor funny? Here have 18 codes.
Love the front tire spats. Still have to put them on with the racebred splitter that just got installed a few days ago, and figure out how it all fits together.
I also want the lower fender inserts, and will get to that at some point. They look nice on the EVS fenders.
I'm a bit of a...
The DAW turbo is a good unit. Just a crap company as far as dealing with customers goes.
Just because sormthing is made in China doesn't make it inferior. China will give you what you pay for. Could be crap, could be great. Pure is the same. Manufactured in China, assembled in the US.
Would...
Oof horrid is a bit harsh. I also did some logs with the old tune btw, and if you want horrid....i have horrid. By comparison this is great. Low bar and all. I'm just happy that there are no massive red flags.
Yeah should do 4th. Not easy though to get to the top of 4th on public roads here...
So we did some logs yesterday with the DAW turbo installed. Still on the map that was made for the Pure800, and on the low boost map. We decided against doing logs on the high boost map until we send these to the tuner to get a more appropriate map on. Granted the 2 turbos are similar, but...
Racebred splitter + tunnels + cf endplates installed. Excuse the potato pic, it's actually a screenshot from a vid the shop sent me.
4 of these titanium blocks also installed
Think we figured out what to do with the tow strap. I'm going to unscrew the front plate and use it at the track...
Yessir. I'll always try to do that, and sometimes even at the cost of the eventual outcome, within reason. Part of it is because i enjoy supporting people doing things i wish i had the skills to do myself.
Will read up on this. Bathroom reading material secured. Thanks. I have a decent...
Radiant heat is radiant heat. My climate or yours, I'm sure we'd both rather do what we can to keep engine bay temps down at the track.
In theory should also experience a tiny improvement in spool. Nothing really noticeable. Trapping heat in the downpipe = the exhaust gasses will move faster...
The shop has taken the Pure turbo out and installed the DAW. I'm curious about how different the 2 turbos would feel, but i haven't really gotten the chance to properly experience the Pure800 to draw any fair conclusions.
While that was out, the downpipe got wrapped with some titanium wrap from...
I like my steering wheel/hub setup (330mm suede, flat bottom) but i hate the fact that i can't see my dash at all. The jqwerks hub can't accommodate my preferred steering wheel style, GT3/Butterfly like the zestek hub can. And i'm def not going to buy an entirely new hub, be the zestek or the...
This decal (and in this location) has been a long-standing tradition of mine, and i'm a sucker for tradition.
Only 2 of the 4 underbody strakes i ordered have arrived for some reason, but i'm looking forward to having these go on once the other 2 are here.
I've had this sitting around...
Update:
The track day on the 29th was a wash. Turbo didn't work. One of the Supra guys crashed. Riding shotgun with him was another one of the Supra folks. Both are relatively ok, but the car is gone. Glad it ended the way it did, but quite bummed overall as they're both good guys.
AutoX...
Yeah I'm sure his rear is toe in. But I think the changes he's made there work opposite to what he's trying to achieve.
@a90.faz if you went from +0.4 to +0.2 toe in the rear, you're getting less stability not more, in favor of more rotation. More rear end wiggling under braking, not less.
I...
