Love the aero discs. That blue pops well with the body color.
Def not a great design guy by any means, but i'm trying to make things work, color wise. Well, match, at least. Harnesses are blue (sparco). front brace is cusco blue. Alcon brakes are blue. NOw these blue aerodiscs. The red cusco tow hook will be painted blue at some point. Just some subtle blue touches here and there to make it a proper second color. Will probably stop there....subtle

Thankfully the turbo shipped. Well, the label was created, but it hasn't gone out to DHL just yet.

Was looking good today for the giant paperweight that it is

Got to see this R34 as well. It's....something....

Update:

The track day on the 29th was a wash. Turbo didn't work. One of the Supra guys crashed. Riding shotgun with him was another one of the Supra folks. Both are relatively ok, but the car is gone. Glad it ended the way it did, but quite bummed overall as they're both good guys.

AutoX planned for the 2nd obviously not happening. That's a lot of missed events this season. A lot

The good news:
Racebred splitter shipped and will be with me soon
The DAW turbo shipped, and should be with me in the next 5 days or so
Rear vent cutout (behind the rear wheels) should arrive by tomorrow

Pure sent me a return label for the pure800 turbo. What a bunch of legends. To put things in perspective, it would cost me more than $800 to send it back....I have nothing but great things to say about how they've handled everything. They will get my business in the future, and i will be advocating for them in general.

Next event will be the TA race @ Yas Marina GP on the 17th.

This decal (and in this location) has been a long-standing tradition of mine, and i'm a sucker for tradition.

Only 2 of the 4 underbody strakes i ordered have arrived for some reason, but i'm looking forward to having these go on once the other 2 are here.

I've had this sitting around for a while, and not sure what to do with it. I have the Cusco tow hook on the back, and my license plate on the front. I really like it though. Yes, silly.

I like my steering wheel/hub setup (330mm suede, flat bottom) but i hate the fact that i can't see my dash at all. The jqwerks hub can't accommodate my preferred steering wheel style, GT3/Butterfly like the zestek hub can. And i'm def not going to buy an entirely new hub, be the zestek or the Gen2 jqwerks. This one for example just bolts right up to the zestek hub. Would've been great.

So my only option is this Sparco wheel, which should work fine. It's quite small @ 310mm, so let's see how that feels. I'll at least be able to see my dash. Would be nice to see what gear i'm in instead of having to use my brain all the time. Sounds silly, but it's just 1 more thing to think about that i'd rather not have to do.

Will be nice to see the tach too, but i'm getting one of these as well. Not sure if i'll be putting this on the steering column or on top of the dash, but i'm leaning towards the former. Probably best to not further compromise visibility in the Supra, even by a little.

The shop has taken the Pure turbo out and installed the DAW. I'm curious about how different the 2 turbos would feel, but i haven't really gotten the chance to properly experience the Pure800 to draw any fair conclusions.

While that was out, the downpipe got wrapped with some titanium wrap from Funk Motorsports.

The APR gurney flap is en route and should finally be here in a couple of days. Between that and the new giant endplates, i'm a little bit more comfortable dropping the AoA from where it last stood @ 8 degrees. Might end up reversing that decision depending on how the next race goes, with the new Racebred splitter/tunnels/endplates installed.

Also have some stiffer springs on standby. I'm very likely going to slap those on post race as i'm certain the new splitter is going to warrant that. Fronts were initially 342lbs/in, then went to 457 and post race will almost certainly move to 685.

Curious as to what you're expecting from a temperature decrease and where/what that decrease will help with. Suspect based on your climate you're looking for an overall engine bay temp decrease.

Radiant heat is radiant heat. My climate or yours, I'm sure we'd both rather do what we can to keep engine bay temps down at the track.

In theory should also experience a tiny improvement in spool. Nothing really noticeable. Trapping heat in the downpipe = the exhaust gasses will move faster. Exhaust gas velocity effect, basically. But eh, we're talking near negligible territory.

If you really want to go crazy, get Inconel shielding. I did that on my last track car and it made an insanely huge difference in everything.

I could literally hold my hand 1" away from the exhaust right after coming in from a session.

Can always count on you to do your due dilligence to support forum members.
+1 for this thread.
Yessir. I'll always try to do that, and sometimes even at the cost of the eventual outcome, within reason. Part of it is because i enjoy supporting people doing things i wish i had the skills to do myself.

Will read up on this. Bathroom reading material secured. Thanks. I have a decent understand of the properties of inconel, but not so much from a motorsports application perspective.

Btw, if you're not familiar with Funk Motorsports and their heat management stuff, check them out. UK company. Hands down the best at what they do. Their blankets are the stuff of legend.

Thank you for the explanation.
