How does the front-to-rear aero balance feel? We're pretty much on par on the front (i have a 5" stickout racebred splitter with tunnels/endplates, canards, GT4 louvers, and top fender vents).

The reason i'm asking is because when i approached Zebulon and AJ Hartman, both told me to not even consider running any of their dual element wings because my front aero would not be able to balance them. And also because i'd have to chassis mount them.

Zebulon pushed me towards their ZWG-330 (13" chord, 72" span) and AJ Hartman towards their Fulcrum 14 (14" chord, 72" span)

You're running a giant dual element SC wing, that doesn't seem to be chassis mounted either.
The Racebred splitter is decent, and the tunnels help but is not really in same league here. His new splitter is significantly more advanced in design and should provide substantial DF over the Verus diffuser he was running previously. Even then, I'm not sure if it's enough to run a dual element rear wing though.

Yeah def not comparing my splitter with his new one. Different ballpark. But the Racebred and Verus ones are comparable (although i'd give the edge to the Racebred on stickout and endplates). So was curious about his experience running that splitter with that monster wing while they were paired together.

Thought I'd share a couple of pics from a recent static event just because I like how it looks.
Looking to do some testing and set up throughout Feb and have two Time Attack events planned for March.

I had an event at my home track of Wanneroo called Outpace the other week which was a mix of Time Attack, drifting and roll racing.
Was an awesome event, they even got some heavy hitters to come to Perth from overseas and over east.
Last year's WTAC winner Tanuki came and smashed the track record which was unreal to see.

Personally I went better than expected.

It was my first proper go at my home track with all the aero on, and because there were no real rules we decided to throw on some Advan A005 slicks.
Dropped my PB from 59.1 (which was set at the same power, but no aero and A050s) down to a 55.6 which is the fastest time I can find for a street registered car around there.
For reference a well driven 992 GT3RS will do a mid 59.

Outpace_results.jpg

Took me a couple of sessions on Friday practice to get my head around driving on A005s. You can just lean on them so much.
Being my first real crack at Wanneroo with the new aero and I needed to trust how much more speed the car could carry and how late I could brake.
Even then, after analysing the data there is still nearly another second in it.

First couple of sessions on Saturday went alright but I knew I wasn't getting everything out of the car.
Third session I did my two laps and got a 56.0.
I knew the track (and driver) would go off after lunch so I quickly jumped back in line and asked to squeeze in one more hot lap before the session ended and they agreed if I would do my in/out laps as quick as possible.

Was so pumped to see the 55.6 when I crossed the line, and so was the team which you can hear if you watch the end of the vid when I come back into the pits.

The car felt mega, but I still think the expert driver prep was key

And thanks to all the photographers who show up to these things because I am rubbish at taking photos.

Because the car is working really well we have decided to mess with it.

The current turbo setup is an AMS Alpha 8 kit which uses a Garret 3582 with an internal wastegate which is operated by the OEM BMW electronic wastegate actuator.
In theory this is a good idea as it gives the ECU excellent boost control capabilities.
But in reality it has caused a fair bit of lost track time as it is too sensitive to being out of adjustment and can get bound up.
Also I'm pretty sure the small rear housing and internal wastegate is choking things.
Torque hits hard then falls off hard at higher rpms.

I’ve been impressed by the Turbosmart range of turbos and now have on the way;
-6 boost manifold
-Turbosmart 6870
-50mm wastegate

Hopefully will add some reliability and extra power at higher rpms.
The plan for now is to try and tune for a bit less peak torque but hold it longer.
Then after we build the engine we can throw more at it.

Also I got told by the event organisers I needed to start an Instagram account as it's not really helpful linking to my unused personal instagram with old pictures of my kids when promoting events

So started this one

Awesome build, great pics and congrats on the PB.

I'm always impressed by the Motorsport / Tuning scene in Australia.
Coming from the Skyline / RB plattform watching stuff from Haltech, Motive Garage, Platinum Racing, Turbosmart etc.

Yours is manual though isn't it?
I think I've only run one 100-200 Dragy and that was on the way to the track on a damp road with wheelspin in 4th. Was great DA that day though.

Yeah it is

Would be curious what your time is like with better driving conditions then!

I'm trying to break into the 4s, hopefully with a better shift and some good DA, I'll be able to hit it lol.

The Turbosmart turbo and wastegate are on. It all fit nicely on the 6boost manifold.
Now it just needs a new dump and charge pipe made then ready for tuning.
