what are you using the hold the Garmin Catalyst, is it solid or is there some movement?
This fits under the infotainment screen. Just disappears, with the ball sticking out on the right side.

And the ball then connects to this mount that holds the catalyst

I've tried many different combos (i think 5 at this point), and this is by far the one i liked the most. Does it move? errr....a tad. Nothing really noticeable, and it won't fall off no matter how rough things get. It also sits fairly flush, even though you can still control the angle.

When you take the catalyst off, the magnetic charger (and hence cables) stays connected to the mount since it's screwed in, so there's no need to ever disconnect the cables. I've had to do that with a couple of the mounts i tried and it was really annoying.

General updates:

Time to renew the registration, which means it needs to pass a test. They're quite strict here during testing, and the rules are really vague. So seats/exhaust/steering wheel/splitter/diffuser will all come off, along with any small decals i have. Back on when after the test is passed.

Once that's done, the rear vents (cutout behind the rear wheels to extract air) will go on. Also have some new canards on the way as one of mine got chipped during the earlier splitter incident. Rather than replacing them with another set of APRs, i got the big boy canards from AJ Hartman on the way. Pic below

On that note, i've been going back and forth with both AJ Hartman and Zebulon to eventually replace my wing.
Specs:
AJ Hartman Fulcrum 14: 72" length - 14" chord
Zebulon ZWG-330: 72" length - 12.9" chord

Anybody have an experience working with either of those guys. Any wisdom to share here? The car will slowly move up a few classes, so i'm not too worried about balancing the front, which tbh already has a strong base. Bigger tunnels would be next perhaps. Plus i'd be able to run a low AoA for now, which would be nice.

As it stands, i'm kinda, but barely leaning more towards the Fulcrum 14. Simply put, more downforce. Yes, along with that comes more drag, but drag is a lot less important on a time attack car than it is on an endurance car. Time attack cars generally have ridiculous amounts of power, which yeah doesn't nullify the drag obviously, but largely offsets the penalty in ways endurance built cars can't. Well before i'd have the wing anyway i'll be running a conservative 720whp or so on PI.

I don't know enough about the design philosophy differences when it comes to their airfoils. I do however like the theory behind Zebulon's dynamic AoA vs the static one that AJ Hartman has. I think a 2D approach has a higher floor, but a 3D one, assuming it's designed for a specific application, has a higher ceiling. Not an expert though, so i'm hoping someone can chime in.

i have worked with Ryan at Zebulon before. he made the front splitter and rear wing for my track 350Z. i'm local to him (Colorado) and he actually came out to 3d scan my front bumper and rear hatch. they make extremely high quality and effective parts. we went back and forth discussing the splitter design because i was originally aiming for NASA TT4, but decided to go directly ahead with a splitter that would be TT3 legal instead of worrying about the restrictions of TT4. that allowed me to run the larger chord for the rear wing as well.

Ryan is a great guy, and the quality of his products are fantastic. one of the engineers on my team (from California) runs their front splitter and rear wing on his time-trial E46 M3. there are A LOT of local guys running Zebulon aero as well, with quite a few of them being Supras.

Thanks for chiming in. I've listened to Ryan on podcasts, and well as heard testimonials from others. Hard to find folks with as as good a rep as that. AJ Hartman has a wonderful rep too tbh. Both have been super responsive and helpful via email

Looks...familiar lol

dude, that pic is nicer than any of the ones on the AJ Hartman website. wtf. Got any more? That looks really nice.

Edit: i think that's the smaller Fulcrum 12 though not the 14. I could be mistaken of course

Update:

Car passed registration, so don't have to worry about this shit for another year.

Check list before the next race on the 22nd:

- Brake fluid done
- New front brake pads done
- Oil change done
- Extra PA rods done
- Speed Engineering rear vents done
- Revised tune done
- New 295/35/18 tires. Either CRS of Vitour depending on availability of the former pending
- Height drop with beefier sidewalls (15mm more meat) and realignment pending
- Subwoofer removal pending
- AJ Hartman canards pending

"out of an abundance of caution"....6 Professional Awesome rods....

Picked up some Racebred skid blocks. Hopefully they arrive before the next race on the 22nd. unlikely though. Really like them. Nicely designed to minimize catching. I also like the fact that the hardware they included is black.... which matters to me a bit more than i'd like to admit.

splitter rod placement is good, splitter rod to crash bar mounting are bad. especially the 2nd from ouside ones. those will rip off after a few events. use 1/8th thick 6/7 series aluminum plates to sandwich all bolt points front and back, top and bottom if you want them to last.

And here i was happy with my 6 rods. NOT ENOUGH HARDWARE. Never thought it would be this hard to get something that seemingly simple right

---------------

Decided to reach out to the trackbuilt guys on Instagram since they're active there and haven't responded to my earlier email

Looks like this isn't going to happen anytime soon. Me thinks they should've had all that sorted out before taking pre-orders.

Subwoofers out. Each one weighs about 2kg / 4.4lbs.
