Noticeably louder with the valves open but still very tame under ~4k rpms. Valves closed is still quiet. Not even as loud as the stock dp with valves open. Unless youre ready to tune the car I wouldnt go catless yet
Back to the focus of the thread… has anyone with an upgraded turbo tried the no lift shift? How’s it working with the OTS NLS? Anyone had their tuner revise it?
To add to what Bryan mentioned, it’s worth considering an intake manifold with your setup to keep the temps happy considering you’re in Cali. Depending on your end goals, that might be the right time to swap out the DI for PI.
I’ve talked with a lot of tuners/shops and so far apparently no one’s blown up the trans yet, which I find hard to believe. Might be one of those things you just don’t talk about but there are plenty of cars pushing upper 700’s for torque but the longevity is unclear
I don’t know of any high hp...
As people have already mentioned, do not go top mount right away unless you're okay with significant turbo lag. At most, get a full frame for the stock location then upgrade to top mount if you really want it (there are stock location options which will get you to 900whp)
