Sounds like the whole day is shot. All I know is Porsche Club is hosting the following weekend that you can still sign up for if that's any constellation.
Same, super bummed. Spent a ton of money and time getting my car ready. I’ll talk to my co worker who knows one the organizers for Spring Mountain. They were organizing signups along side the SIV track day.
Yeah longer course is awesome. Looking at weather here it's showing low 90's which isn't surprising given it's still 103's here right now. Running earlier this year it was 100 in the afternoon and car started pulling timing and brakes gave up on last run of the day, stock setup.
How did they...
Likely in the low 90's for weather. Sounds like they're running the shorter of the 2 layouts for Charleston Peak as well as open sign up running for other cars.
Tire question. Running 19" x 9.5 +27 and 19" x 10.5" +34 wheels and looking to get RE17RS but want to make sure of what i can fit. Was looking at 275/35 front and 285/35 rear. Stock suspension. Sorry likely been asked before but my search didn't come through.
Edit: looking like maybe 265...
What material did you use for the heat shield? There's so many knock off looking ones online. I was thinking of getting the Verus shield and then applying this material to the inside of it. I'm sure the Verus shield is great but I'm assuming once it gets hot it just radiates the heat.
Definitely spend the time to fill the holes on the cover plate. Looks much cleaner and the 3m tape is plenty strong to keep it in place. Fortunately the carbon blade is really well made imo.
That's not how mine came in.... Just drill out accordingly and make sure to use the largest washer you can fit in there to help support the blade to upright. Not great craftsmanship on the Suvneer one I got as well. I did a lot of body filler work on pinholes and smooth out areas before...
Made my own arm rest insert with some modeling, 3d printing with ASA and carbon skinning. The carbon isn't perfect but not bad for my 10th attempt. The inserts are notched so the cup holder springs grab it a bit. Might make one and just wrap it with black vinyl to match.
It's a mix of m5 and M6. I bought a kit from amazon with M5 x 8, 12, 16 and 20mm and M6 with same just to cover myself. This video had just m6 linked but I'm pretty sure it was a mixture with m5 as well for the one i got.
Did my first HPDE at Spring Mountain Motor Resort. Pretty overwhelming track at first, definitely had to build up confidence in some sections. 2021 bone stock, car was solid for the first few sessions but temps outside got around 100 degrees. Last session intake temps were getting up around...
