  1. Rear Brake Pads - Ceramic

Thanks for confirming. What’s the reason? Any concerns with the aftermarket pads not having adhesive? The pins seem to hold the pads in one place
  2. Jacking / Lifting Points

Any will do, but here is one...
  3. Jacking / Lifting Points

Same issue with mine - had to drive the front tires up on 2x12s which gave an extra 1.5" of clearance. That did the trick.
  4. Jacking / Lifting Points

Wanted to say thanks to ChrisD for posting this as it was very helpful. I have a "low-ish" profile HF jack and had to drive up the fronts on 2x12"s to clear so I could jack the front. Once I got that on stands, the back was a serious PITA. I had to line up the jack just so at and angle so the...
  5. ECU Bricked during Recall Update…

Sorry to hear people having this issue. My g/f's '21 was done in a few hours with no issue. My X3MC had previously had a recall software update (not this one) and it took them a few days to get it done but no issues either. I'm bringing it in again to see if I can get the ISTEP update (which...
  6. Rear Brake Pads - Ceramic

I installed the Z26 Extreme pads last night/this morning. I found the fronts were a real PITA to get out. On my X3MC, once I removed the pins the pads just slid out. On the Supra it seems the backing of the OEM pads was "fused" to the pistons of the caliper. Almost like they were glued in...
  7. DAMN! now what!

That sucks! These posts should be made of metal or at least not part of the engine.
  8. DAMN! now what!

Ack! How is this even possible???
  9. DAMN! now what!

I'm still not getting this - how does a broken engine cover expose internal parts of the engine? (keep in mind the Supra in our fleet is not mine so I'm not as familiar with the engine compartment). Want to make sure I don't make the same mistake when I have to change the oil.
  10. Anyone have brake caliper bolt torque settings?

Just in time for me - gonna be swapping out the pads next weekend. Thanks!
  11. How to Improve OE Sub Bass Quality and Eliminate Vibrations

Looking forward to reading the full thread
  12. How to Improve OE Sub Bass Quality and Eliminate Vibrations

For the rest of us who are impatient, for the x-overs, are you just soldering them in line to the woofers?
  13. How to Improve OE Sub Bass Quality and Eliminate Vibrations

Great idea. I don't know why I didn't think of this with mine! I've used plexiglass to make tabs for non-standard speakers to fit in the door in my previous 2005 E46 M3 (in fairness, my memory from 15 years ago isn't great lol). At the risk of violating a forum rule, here is what I made out...
  14. How to Improve OE Sub Bass Quality and Eliminate Vibrations

Makes perfect sense. The only concern I have with a x-over that high is it can muddy the sub and cause the sub amp to work harder reproducing mid-bass. From your posts, I'm sure you will tweak it to perfection :)
  15. How to Improve OE Sub Bass Quality and Eliminate Vibrations

This hatch is so tiny I think anything is too much lol. I was reading reviews on the JL and some people noted it was overpriced for what it was and not up to JL quality. Curious what you end up with/how it works out - will be waiting patiently for the thread!
  16. How to Improve OE Sub Bass Quality and Eliminate Vibrations

I got passive crossovers for the HK "woofers" on my X3M but never installed them. I am looking forward to the writeup to see how you integrate as I wasn't crazy about cutting the wires to the connectors. 200hz seems a bit high, I like to keep my subs 80hz and below but that is all personal...
  17. How to Improve OE Sub Bass Quality and Eliminate Vibrations

Awesome job! You should totally make a separate thread. I love how how you used lexan/plexiglass for the amp mount. On my X3MC I used sheet metal - wish I had thought of the plastic route :)
  18. How to Improve OE Sub Bass Quality and Eliminate Vibrations

I actually used this on the Supra. Nice simple plate holder but two issues why I didn’t use it on my X3MC: 1) The amount of vibration coming through the hatch was enough to rattle the metal in the plate itself. 2) I already had an ///M license plate frame which I like and I was concerned...
