Awesome writeup!!! Thanks! Question, is it possible/advised to "fill" the oil filter canister? Back in my E46 days, people would advise to fill the oil filter canister with oil to prevent starvation on the initial start. Hard to tell from the pics (and I haven't done an oil change yet).

Good luck BMW dealers either have no clue or don’t want to do it. Several have been able to get it done after fighting and others just paid out of pocket. I’ll likely go the pay route if it is reasonable. Many have reported driving improvements (X3M forum) but I wonder how much is a placebo...
