Let's be real. It's a lot more than a few dozen forum posts. Techs are posting up failures all over social media and it's not just Supras. It affects a bunch of BMWs with the same B58TU engine as well. I don't think every car is a ticking time bomb, but it is a flawed design that has a fix...
it's linked to pressure being too high, not necessarily oil being too hot.
with the new oil pump, it will do a better job of controlling oil pressure so you won't experience the high pressure scenario that puts the measurement system outside of it's tolerance. that's why it fails at 16%. oil...
keep in mind you don't have to buy a kit. I buy the 5L jugs since it's a better value and keep it on the shelf. When it's empty, I store it. Next oil change, when I drain the oil I'll pour it into the jug. When it's full, send it back. At most you have 2 empty jugs or 1 half full waiting for the...
A good indication is, when you pull up outside, wait and see if someone asks "is that your car?"
the enthusiasts usually expose themselves and will hopefully be the ones to take care of you.
sometimes just seeing the wheels, someone will ask "what are these going on?" and the conversation will...
Fundamentally wheel hop is caused by slop in the rear. So if you already have all solid bushings/bracing, then I agree it's something else.
I also agree that more traction is kind of a band-aid. If the wheels spin, it should spin straight.
On top of your wheel alignment, maybe also double...
springs are one of those things that you can have for years and years without issue. i always buy used because, even if you move on to coilovers or sell the car, they will sell for the same price you paid. they don't really lose value.
They expect sales. If you can't essentially be a contracted salesman, then you're right - there isn't' much to be gained for them.
I've gone down/seen a couple routes to this with smaller creators.
Usually you pay full-price. Then they either refund a portion of the price for every sale that...
This is honestly a big impact on DI upgrades being successful.
The biggest issue I see with B58TU HPFP upgrades is that the HPFP spring is very stiff. This pushes on the exhaust cam and adds extra resistance that VANOS has to overcome to maintain desired cam timing.
In a lot of cases, cam...
nice, i wouldn't suspect that's the issue then. just swap the sensor.
also make sure the spacer is full threaded in and not causing an exhaust leak. ultimately, flashing a map eliminates the need for it, so you could just remove it with an OTS tune.
those codes indicate the downstream o2 sensor probably needs to be replaced.
also, sometimes the o2 spacers are too long and cause issues. especially if it has an elbow. try running a shorter spacer.
instead of manually changing the temperatures when you drive, put it in auto, set the temp, and adjust the fan speed setting to the max. it will blow hard when the car is up to temp then automatically slow down when it's good.
i was annoyed by the mirror thing too, but it's specifically done to help with parallel parking. so, generally speaking, you'd always be lining up the passenger side against the curb. on the driver's side, you still want to see traffic coming next to you as you line up the car.
not the best...
supra for daily driving. enjoy the turbo for pep around town and passing power on the highway.
cayman for weekend/track. the balance will shine and the lack of torque will go unnoticed.
michelin AS4 is a great compromise for somewhere that gets cold but doesn't really see snow. It's basically a summer tire with an all-season compound, so still grips really well. just won't get rock hard in the 40s.
the way it was explained to me: the goal is to give you the idrive experience as quickly as possible, but the welcome screen is also a loading screen. so if you wake up the car by unlocking the trunk to put in your bags or something, and take longer to get to the door, it may not display the...
sorry old post but pro tip: turn on burbles but set the options to something that's impossible and they wont happen.
like set max rpm to 3000 and min rpm to 6000.
Correct. I along with many others have been running E85 on stock fuel lines for years.
And PI is a completely separate item. It taps into your stock fuel line to add a second set of 6 injectors that run in parallel to the stock ones. It Doesn't make sense why upgraded fuel lines would require...
