I think this is what a lot of the misunderstanding comes down to. To the states it fits its market segment perfectly. Everywhere else everyone is scratching their heads thinking why is it so expensive?
My white pro on order is just under £55k. that’s $70k USD or $100k AUD. that’s a huge...
If I’ve read it correctly this website works off of U.K. data and the source is warranty claims. Yes there are older models in there as some have longer, possibly extended, warranties.
I’m not sure on any of the data I’ve seen so far but thought it might be interesting to show the opposite...
Best, most reasoned reply I’ve had the fortune of recieving on this forum.
I’m in the U.K. and to be honest it’s just not good value. We have “hot hatch’s” which perform on the same level that Toyota are quoting and as I’ve said before a big issue is BMWs reputation for reliability...
In the states only...
Elsewhere the value is terrible
However even then you have the corvette, mustang, challenger and a few others that outperform it for less or similar money...
I envy the states for the corvette, it’s a great car!
Come on man, that’s a weak reply, I have already listed not only in this thread but in others a long list of reasons why it’s not good enough. What do you mean “ReAl PoWeR”? It’s listed as 335, like all the other B58 engines, other than the Z4 and BMW have already stated it’s quicker.
I would...
For the sake of fairness:
https://www.reliabilityindex.com/manufacturer
Toyota rank 4th
BMW rank 31st
On the car list:
https://www.reliabilityindex.com/top-100
Toyota IQ ranks 1st
BMW does not appear on the top 100
This is why I don’t like BMW anymore and from personal experience. 2...
You got me there ;)
I am waiting to drive it before I make any sort of definitive decision on it as a car. I don’t think it’s a bad car, not at all (overpriced though). But is it a bad supra? Absolutely
The fact you guys always have to bring a nearly 30 year old designed car into this is hilarious. Shame the new “supra” doesn’t compete with any modern Ferrari’s and competes with low spec Porsche’s rather than the top spec Porsche’s of the past.
Obviously the MKIV has had its day many years...
Are you dim?
What are you talking about? The experience of what? Getting ripped off?
That’s stupidity, not an “experience”
Also to add no respect has been earnt so none will be given
No I put down a deposit on a car they hadn’t revealed yet as I was one of the fools (like many on here) that thought: “nah it might be good on release!” “The parts list probably isn’t accurate!” Or “this huge list of evidence that this car is terrible can’t be true!”
Honestly that was some of...
The car is “out”, they’re taking money for it, journalists have driven it, orders are being processed, all of the parts are known...
Seems like the hardcore supporters of this car don’t like to acknowledge these aspects and use the whole “buh muh car not out yet”
It IS out. I have an order on...
Come on. Really? Mirror the 3 series dash and it’s the same.
They could have made the mirrors unique. Look at Aston Martin. If they can do it. Anyone can do it
I’m not quite sure what you’re trying to state with the RCF. Both that and ge LC500 fit the supra philosophy much more closely.
How...
Your very presumptuous reply is the problem with the staunch defenders of this car. I do in fact understand the complexities of car development. For a company that already has other existing platforms, saying they don’t know how to produce sports cars is misleading, let’s also not forget some of...
Where’s the proof that Toyota had any input on the chassis? It’s all BMW. BMW suspension, bmw active differential. BMW linkaging. There is no evidence at all that Toyota had any input into the chassis development.
Edit: to keep this on topic, for all the reasons stated so far I can actually...
Well yea, it’s not amazing but it’s not bad either. The version in the supra lacks tuning potential as it’s rated to 500nm I believe.
A manual is obviously preferred
