I had a $3000 deposit on an Emira, but after a year of being glued to two Lotus forums and seeing regular reports of quality and reliability issues, I pulled my deposit. With Lotus gearshift being scarce in the US, the thought of having a new Emira towed 80 miles, or waiting for the dealership...
I found that it was far too easy to exceed 4500 rpm (which violates the break-in restrictions) while in Sport mode. Staying below 100 MPH in normal mode also took some feathering of the throttle until the 1200-mile mark.
That looks like pipe insulation tubing. I use something similar for my kinetic watch winder. You can get some sizes at Home Depot, but there should be a larger variety at mcmaster.com
Make sure you know maximum temps where installed.

I would guess that the wind over and around the spoiler has some beneficial effect. Take a look at the C8 Corvette's Z51 option rear wing. Here's what is stated by GM about the Z51 package add-ons:
The front splitter is more aggressive. It’s designed to reduce lift and keep your Corvette glued...
I think if those wings were cracking and flying off the car, we'd have seen mention about it. I had my side skirts PPFed with a carbon fiber-look STEK wrap and it looks fine. Real carbon fiber is rarely necessary for most parts, including air intakes.
Okay, I'll spell it out for you:
I was comparing costs because the amount of labor to change the oil in an NSX is quite a bit more than that when changing oil in a Supra, yet the cost is not that much different from that mentioned by the OP. In fact, the average cost for the NSX is about $390 -...

Last rainy season, I did get caught in the rain a few times with my Supra. It is perfectly fine as long as you limit aggressive acceleration. And since my MX5 has a cold air intake with filter just behind the grill, I try to limit taking it when it is raining.
I once (last year) asked an Acura dealership what they would charge to change the oil in a 2017 NSX. The Service guy told me $450. The oil change requires removing lots of panel screws and draining the oil in three places.
For cleaning up threads, most oils will do, but for more aggressive tapping, I use Tapping Fluid. Keeping the tap aligned with the hole (perpendicular to the wheel surface is very important. Some people use a thick tapping guide block with non-sloppy clearance hole to prevent ending up with an...
If the dealership were to find damaged/worn out wheel bearings, then they probably COULD refuse warranty work if wheel spacers were used. They are known to accelerate wear on wheel bearings, probably over many miles. So even though this scenario is not likely, it could happen.
I used to commute to work with either my MX5, Mazda 3 sedan, and previous to the Mazda 3, a 2001 Corvette. I never had any issues with carrying things. If (very rarely) I needed to carry something large to work or to home, I'd take the Mazda 3 or my wife's Lexus SUV. But really, that almost...
