probably helpful to other owners and toyota themselves to gather more data (if they're still looking for it). who knows, they may recommend a heavier oil in the future as a result?
Fascinating, thank you guys for doing all the exploration! I hate how code updates to the head unit always wipes out so many customizations.
To confirm, you guys still only see the added adjustments to individual settings for Engine and Transmission and not steering and suspension.
e.g...
Gotcha. It should follow the same logic with the pop-up notification active or inactive, but you're right it doesn't show anywhere else which-sport mode you're in. I have my car coded to start in Sport Individual which is mostly what I'll keep using anyways...it's just nice to have that extra...
You must code the BDC portion for the buttons to work; at least that's what made the difference in my vehicle. It's the second screenshot OP provided. https://www.supramkv.com/threads/sport-plus-mode-activated-but-benefits.5333/post-113671
BTW this worked for me. At a minimum it gives me a...
The 'bar' above the "max" line is supposed to be blank, if there is green there, your engine might be overfilled with oil. Just want to make sure you weren't referring to the top of the entire virtual dipstick bar.
**Edit - thanks for those who responded and connected with me directly. I have removed the contents of this post and the thread can be deleted. Love the community here!**
short of draining your oil into a measurable container, there's no other way to measure oil level. it's an expensive sensor and if you follow the on-screen / manual instructions on when/how to measure the oil with the infotainment, you're going to get what should be a pretty darn accurate oil...
Awesome! If you get the oil message again, considering stopping by Toyota to have it documented. They can either top it off or do an oil change for you and then monitor it to see if/when it happens again. It's becoming more common as 2021's have gotten more miles put on them now...
My hope - which is wishful thinking - is that since we qualify for 2 toyota care services (2 years or 20K miles whichever comes first), that they shouldn't care if we ask for them early, but that they'll just make sure we only get 2 services for free.
If you're leveraging Toyota Care, I'm curious if their systems have limits on when they'll allow you to use the service - e.g. how close to the months/miles of the recommended service do you need to be in order to qualify.
Hood and trunk is single piece. He either needed to do a join at the lip spoiler area or can do single piece with a bit of the trunk edge revealed by the rear glass. I don't mind a bit of a gap for no joins. I see a few signs on the hood that might have been stretched just a hair much but again...
I had a similar problem, it kept stopping and the fuel was not full (1 bar left on the gauge). My friend said to lift the car upward and it'll fill up. It sure did for me...added the final 1.6 gallons with no stopping.
@Sigg let me know how it all turns out later (feel free to DM so we don't just clutter this thread). Another car of mine is satin PPF'd (different film and installer), and I've learned over time that there's unique characteristics/limitations with this type of film vs. clear PFF that can rear...
I was surprised to learn from friends with the M2 Competition (I know has a different motor) uses 0w30 from the factory and one friend tracks his ~6x a year (since 2019) and only services his car at recommended intervals at BMW, and has not experienced low oil or consumption issues. I would have...
Congrats to you too and I have been getting compliments on the color as well. I also feel like we're on a similar route ... picking up my car later today... https://detailership.com/portfolio/2021/3/17/2020-toyota-supra-gr-turbulence-gray
Sorry, what exactly was BS from Toyota that I stated? I'm not sure I quite follow. I never disagreed that low oil with 2K miles driven is not normal...lol. If I run into the same issue with low-oil I'm absolutely going to make a case with Toyota - ain't really my first rodeo.
Could you please clarify how your image would tell us your car has used 1qt of oil? Your image shows your car is at max oil fill line. The gauge will show if you overfill the oil - indicated by any green shown above the "max" line.
My car at ~100 miles had shown oil at the max line (same as...
