A dyno is a tool. Not the end all, be all metric in measuring hp/tq. Wanna see what the car really puts down, get the car on a 1/4mile, 1/2 mile, 1 mile and see the times and trap speeds. Or do acceleration runs...0-60, 0100, 60-130, etc. Plus you gotta factor in things like weather, atmospheric...
The Supra is built on a different platform, has a stiffer chassis, has a shorter wheelbase, and is lighter than a M2 so that's why the M2's flaws are getting more apparent now. It's a better drivers car than the M2...BMW's current best M car.
2800lbs and you aren't a "street" car any more. We are talking fully stripped interior, fully gutted, passenger seat missing, no AC, no radio, all airbags removed and fully caged up. I think the most common weight reduction mods for a street driven car would be seats, steering wheel, wheels...
Each dyno will read different from one another. Plus you gotta factor in things like the weather, heat soak, etc. Remember a dyno is only a tool. Different ones will read different numbers on different cars. Even bone stock cars will put out different numbers from one another on the same dyno...
So there is gonna be a difference between the track version and the GRMN (god that name sounds so weird lol...it should be TRD)? That track version looks like it's "officially" matching the Z4's hp numbers. But what else would separate that and the hotter version?
Pretty sure they benchmarked it against the top of the line GTS model though and not the base when they were designing it. Unless they only targeted the S model. Idk.
Also MT is comparing a $50k car against more expensive ones. And other future comparisons as well. Be oblivious of them not me lol.
Yeah it does. But it's easily addressable. Negative camber in the front as much as possible, front bar on full soft, rear bar on full stiff (thank god for the fully adjustable suspension on the GT4), wider front tires while keeping the 295 rear tire. Best option would be a 265 front/295 rear...

Motortrend's first test of the car. Good read. Too bad their Youtube channel has gone to sh!t though.
The only thing that killed the CSL for me was the SMG gearbox. If they offered a manual like the regular E46 M3, man it would've one of the all time greatest drivers cars ever. Also I have never heard anyone describe a E60 M5 sounding like an american muscle car lol. That's a first. A friend of...
