I've ran through a few sets of RE71RS's on the Supra already, mostly autocross but again a couple track days too. In my opinion they heat cycle out pretty quickly, and they're expensive.
Yah I'm done limiting myself and caring about BS class legality, after 13+ years of autocross it's time to move on haha. If I choose to autox the car the odd time I'm fine running it in SST.
The group that does track days here at my local track is pretty awesome, they move you up very quickly...
Thanks Traxion, appreciate the detailed response.
Certainly not a noob to performance driving just a noob to tracking the Supra specifically, I've only done a couple of track days in this specific car. V730 seems like a solid option but the new P1's seem to be getting a lot of positive...
In my slow journey towards switching from 90% autocross & 10% track to the inverse of that, I've read through the last 80 or so pages of this thread along with @razorlab awesome build thread. Both have answered a lot of questions I didn't even know I had.
In preparation for the upcoming season...
There was a grey one sitting in Penticton, BC for $69.9K plus taxes and fees, best priced one I've seen by far. It didn't last long, sold last Friday.
My dealer forced me to finance at some ridiculous rate in April of 2023, I went to the bank the next day and paid the loan off in full. I...
Anyone here running OPE wheels? They have a very affordable ($221USD ea.) flow formed 18x10 5x112 +30 wheel, which would be perfect for a square set of track wheels...
Let me know once you do, I may choose the Easy Button here and leave my suspension as is (all stock sans FSB and Swivel Bearings) and only add an SPL LCA to get some negative camber. Then save up for some coilovers.
Jalopnik agrees. Jalopnik
Too bad the values for these, at least here in Canada, are not reflecting this. New MT's sitting at dealer lots for weeks and weeks, even months, slightly under MSRP
Thanks FL, yah the plan, in addition to these springs (or the RSR Sus Springs), is to run Verus Camber plates, I already have the BMW Camber Correction Knuckles so I shouldn't have any issues achieving -3.0° of Camber. And hopefully on a 275/30/18 on an 18x10 +30 wheel (square).
I've had SPL...
Thanks bushido, glad to hear you're tracking the car with the Euro Eibach springs. Yes I already have a front sway bar. What else do you have besides springs and a bar?
Appreciate it, but again to confirm, you ran the US version, not the Euro version?
I'm tempted to go to Ohlins or Fortune...
I haven't had many issues with the 3->2 downshift but I occasionally had issues with the 1->2 up-shift during aggressive shifts while the car is seeing some lateral load i.e. in an autocross setting. I'm 99% convinced I was just getting snagged on the reverse lockout as well. If you're not...
@razorlab posted the official procedure for it, it's super easy to do.

I personally use MOTUL GEAR 300 75W-90
Bump so has anyone tracked their cars on these (Euro version) Eibach springs?
So just circling back on this, from reading through this thread you were on the US spring which lower the car roughly 1.5" vs the Euro version which only lower the car ~0.8"?
Tempted to run these springs (Euro...
Not sure how this can be be called a "placebo" the clutch stop physically reduces the total amount of clutch pedal travel, that's not a placebo. Now whether or not you like the reduced travel, that's very subjective.
Awesome, glad to hear this car is as robust as it is and the fact that you've done 63+ track days with only minor issues is wild, especially considering how much more power you're pushing. A couple follow up questions based on your responses (sorry).
Wheels studs a must? After two seasons of...
