Anyone here running OPE wheels? They have a very affordable ($221USD ea.) flow formed 18x10 5x112 +30 wheel, which would be perfect for a square set of track wheels.

Owner says:

" Just fitted a square setup of 18x10+25 with some sticky 275/40 CR-S all round lowered on H&R springs and I couldn’t be more happier with the fitment. "

Owner also reports no rubbing.
Nice!!!! They look a lot like Apex’s SM-10s. Can they be banged out (repaired) easily if banged up on track? Had one of my Apex wheels recently repaired by a guy who told me not all wheels can be repaired. He looked at mine and said luckily the Apex wheels could be. Just curious.

They have sales all the time. I paid between $1200-1300. Something to keep in mind if you don’t mind how the Apex wheels look.

Was thinking of getting a set actually... BUT, I can't seem to find weight of the rims anywhere so I have been holding off. I'd also want +25 over +30 just so I don't have to run spacers (spacers = bad)
Depending on the tire you're running I don't think you need spacers with a +30 wheel, at least according to the Apex Wheel Fitment guide....

Proper hub and wheel centric spacers are not bad. I don’t know how many times this needs to be stated.

Even the GT4 BMW’s run spacers, and very large ones.

Like most things, they have had a bad stigma attached to them because of people using shit products and not using them correctly. Most people are dumb.

Yeah I'm just personally not a fan of them on a street car. With that said I actually run spacers in my championship winning rally cross car lol so I am a bit of a hypocrite, but that's only because it's not a street car.

I've read that guide, it was very helpful. The problem I have is it seems you have to get lucky with tire selection to be able to run 18x10 +30 without a spacer. I'd rather just get +25 from the get-go and not have to worry about it :)

I'm seeing those wheels pop up as $282/each with 5% off. Is there something I'm missing for the $221/each price? I need a cheap set for autocross and I could probably pull the trigger on these.

In Canada there's a few retailers selling them for $315-320CAD which is about $221USD doing a straight conversion.

Ah okay. I wonder if I can call them to place the order and pay in CAD while still shipping to the US. When I try to set the price to CAD and checkout and ship to the US it changes to USD with a terrible conversion rate.

Good points & appreciate your advice. Then you had to throw in most people are dumb… ? That’s my default setting when it comes to most things engineering or electronic.

Did you remove the hub centering rings that came with the car? I crimped a few by accident ? then threw them all out. Everything is now nice and flush with my 10mm spacers. Any reason for keeping those or did you find spacers to fit around them? Saw you post it elsewhere and thought of it during my morning flush ?

What hub centering rings are you talking about? OEM hubs and wheels are centric to each other.

Good to know. I think a tire shop I went to must have put them on when putting on the new rubber on my track tires. Because we didn’t know where they came from. I definitely didn’t need them.

No spacers or rubbing ?
No spacers, no rubbing (that I've noticed) in the thousand miles I've put on the car since installation. I will double check this next time I am under the car and report back if I find anything different.

Doesn’t seem to be a ton of options in the 18s space. Seems like most manufacturers went the 19 route. Here is to hoping more options appear in the 18 space. I guess custom will have to be the way to go
Not to mention you have to run a slightly larger tire to make that gap disappear.
