Appreciate it, if I was going to autocross this car for another season, I'd likely take you up on buying them but I'm trying to pivot away from autocross, so I'll probably be going with a coilover.
Thanks i3igpete!
I've done one track day with the stock pads/rotors in this car and yeah they actually did seem to hold up ok.
I'm a big fan of Brembo LCF 600 Plus personally for brake fluid.
Yah I'd prefer Verkline over SPL but their LCA's seem to be perpetually out of stock, and I'd...
Ok thanks.
Yes tuning tool for track work for sure, in autox we're so extremely limited in allowable mods it certainly is a main modifier though.
Your car looks gorgeous btw!
Thanks razorlab, appreciate the response.
18x11 +40 works front and rear without the need for spacers? (I hate spacers)
If running a 295 I'm assuming you'd suggest a 295/35/18?
What abour FSB/RSB? With good coilovers are you just running the stock bars front & rear?
Rather than reading through 194 pages, does anyone have a list of the must have mods for tracking the Supra? I've historically done 90% autocross & 10% track in various cars (Camaro's, Corvette, ND Miata, Supra, etc.) but looking to flip that starting next season. My Supra is well setup for BS...
Yes, it was those nuts holding on the brackets.
The nuts are backordered from Toyota so I purchased some from BMW (P/N 31 30 6798572), put them on with loctite and double nutted them to be extra safe.
Lesson here is always replace those nuts when you're replacing the bar, don't reuse them.
Glad to hear you can get to the back of it. The nuts that hold the sway bar bracket to these studs backed off after less than a season of autocrossing/tracking my car (with an aftermarket swaybar). So I went with new nuts and loctite and double nuts this time to be sure, but I was certainly a...
Why didn't I do this sooner, I ask my myself.
I've been driving, tracking and autocrossing manual transmission cars for 20 years and the way the Supra clutch behaved with the CDV made getting going from a stop and the 1->2 shift so awkward I felt like I had learned to drive MT just the day...
Just installed mine, definitely worth the $10. Now instead of going 4"+ past the engagement point of the clutch (when depressing the pedal) you only go down 2-3". Next up will be the CDV delete.
This is true, but they are quite close IMO, with perhaps a slight edge going to the SS 1LE. Either way, in terms of track pony cars they're both excellent. Shame the Camaro is dead and shame that Ford made the new one so damn heavy.
Tough question. In terms of performance they're pretty much equal, keep in mind the Supra comes on ancient Michelin PSS's from the factory, on decent tires it's easily as fast as the SS 1LE/Mach 1 on track. The Camaro has atrocious outward visibility, that was the single biggest thing (only...
