Has it been confirmed that the Magna factory in Austria is shutdown? On M2 forums some have speculated that new M2s on lots won't ever see much of a discount. Even if they sit for months. Equal parts because it's already a low volume niche car, and that with the factory shutdown (assumed) it's...
For sure. Outside of car companies completely folding it's difficult to imagine a near future where massive discounts and incentives aren't being thrown at customers. I think it would be prudent for all major automakers to start doing this with the new month tomorrow (if they haven't already)...
I've heard of this exact some thing occurring on BMW M2's as well, and specifically when trying to get unstuck on driveways/roads. Something baked into the DIFF computer to preserve it in the event that it gets too hot perhaps.
I'm waiting to see if this happens as well.
Will be interesting to see if they do it in similar fashion to what VW just started last week. You can get 72 month 0% financing and no payments for 6 months, but it also negates certain price reduction incentives depending on the model you're...
Likely a stupid question, but is wired CarPlay supported as well?
I've heard of similar issues on all BMW models with wireless CarPlay. Does't sound like a fully baked solution on Apple's end IMHO.
As a 2nd car the 2.0 is starting to sound like an enticing option to me. Likely significantly cheaper than the 3.0, but still plenty quick at my altitude. A quick search of B48 tuning also shows that an extra 50 whp and torque could also be just a tune away.
Looking forward to seeing what the...
Yeah, and I suppose regardless of the price of the 2021 yesterday's news will equate to price drops for the 2020's. So I'd be a bit upset if I paid MSRP or over.
I've never autox'd or raced one, but I could see how the excessive roll would be less than fun in that scenario.
In the sports car world I think it sounds counterintuitive, but at least in the Miata's case the roll was designed in for a reason. In my NC2 and ND I found that perceived speed was...
Have you driven a Miata? The roll really is part of what makes it fun. You can be driving at or near legal speeds and it feels like you're hauling serious ass. Of course that also comes along with some negatives. Actual cornering performance suffers, and sudden maneuvers definitely don't inspire...
Don't the Z4 and Supra already dyno with very similar results? If that's the case can we be certain that this power bump will actually be realized in the real world?
For the last month now there's been dealers in my area with Supras at $3,800 off MSRP. So I don't think expecting 10% off is unreasonable at this point given yesterday's news.
I'm pretty curious to see how the suspension tuning changes will pan out on the 2021. Will it have a harsher ride? Will it perhaps be less fun if there's less body roll when cornering?
There's something to be said for the added sensation of momentum that comes from a little roll when...
Yeah. I agree on your point. Was just trying to keep the facts straight on the M2. Which incidentally is the only BMW I know anything about. Well, except for the Supra I suppose :D
There's a dealer in my area that already had 3 Supras listed for about $3,800 under sticker for the last month now. Curious to see how soon that may drop even further now. I also just noticed that another dealer in my area that's been trying to sell a couple for $10k over MSRP just dropped them...
The first US model year M2 was a 2016 with the N55 engine. The M2C with the S55 didn't come until the 2019 model year. There were changes for the 2018, but they were all cosmetic.
