I’ve been trying to do more research on this topic about the stock Bosch HDP6 pump found on b58 TU, and was wondering if people can provide insight.
I know that the target operating pressure is 350 bar (5000 PSI). I’m under the impression that the HPFP will crash at ~4300 PSI (-700 PSI based on...
I added a BM3 phenolic spacer along with my wagner manifold. I can't quite say if it helped at all, but I can say that it at least didn't hurt. My overall impression is that the differences are negligible. When I track, I'll sometimes take long data logs just to see how IAT's and temps trend...
since you’re not lowering your car, you won’t need to buy adjustable links, although the rear links are plastic. Not exactly a failure point, but I replaced them since I run coilovers.
A lot of bolts that you will remove are TTY, so best practice would be to replace them. I tend to not get...
I have a z4 so YMMV. I ran an aFe front sway bar for 6 months and had about 6 track days with it. I only did the front at the time because of how easy it is to install.
By itself it definitely improved the front body roll. I run staggered ecs02 275/305 so it did increase understeer, which i...
I took some of razorlab’s advice. I put in a pure850 doing about 23psi of boost as the stock turbo was outside of its efficiency range w/ e50. The charge air temps before the manifold are definitely lower vs stock turbo, and the Wagner seems to be a little less stressed trying to cool it down. I...
Currently working with Doug Newton at Subpar. BM3, Flexfuel multimap tuning, currently working on e40 for a pure850. Sameh took 2 days to reply to initial inquiry, Doug replied same day.
Spoke with him a week prior to purchasing a tune. Bought morning of 10/1 and base map was sent within an...
Recently installed a pure 850 which deleted the PCV heater element. As expected from prior research, I got a 16050A “crank case ventilation leakage” code. I double checked all the lines to verify they’re properly connected, and reseated the oil cap just to make sure there are no other outliers...
The e brake motors are just held with some hex bolts. Nothing fancy about it, and no coding required. The e brake motors are specific to g20 with m sport/supra/z4 calipers. Other G chassis BMWs have rear brakes manufactured by TRW and are not compatible with the Mando manufactured calipers on...
No, stock lug bolts are fine because you're not changing the distance of the center bore to the wheel hub. Wheel spacers change that distance, so you'd need to run longer bolts then. Apex wheels are also compatible with the stock lug seat style (which I believe is conical).
Yup! Their Motorsport gold. Looks like champagne in bright daylight and looks more gold as the sun starts to set.
I was going to do bronze, but I already have that color scheme on my other z4 ?
I appreciate you sharing your experiences- When I was running the stock intake manifold, I would have timing pulled about 6-7 minutes into my session. The Wagner manifold definitely allowed me to enjoy most of the sessions without timing being pulled. The log I posted was just the worst case...
If only they made the pure700 still :(. I might have to go pure650 or daw hypercore then.
A couple of questions- do you think you hood vent is making a big difference for temps, or is that more for removing turbulent air in the engine bay? Also, did you notice a difference in trans temp running...
It was cool to see a lot of supras out. Usually I see one, maybe two, at willow springs and only one at laguna.
Did a 2:02:21. Had continental ECS02's on- they wore great but got greasy only after 2.5 laps. Not the best tire for that course.
I'm still trying to read all the info in that thread and I started at the beginning about a week ago lol. While I see these engines running hot but cooling down pretty fast, there have been mixed information about oil temp thresholds. Some have said synthetic oils begin sheering and breaking...
I was thinking more ethanol, the cooler the combustion temps but I guess the stock turbo is just out of the efficiency range at this point. Even though IAT's are high, I am impressed how much the wagner is able to bring down the temps from the pre-throttle measurement.
As far as solutions go...
