Any updates on this? I know Verus released a Q&A on this and an install video, but deleting an Aux cooler when coolant temps already get pretty high sounds sus. Obviously the heat from the oil is playing a roll here, and separating the systems sounds reasonable, but I wonder if there’s still a...
Tune fixed it for me. Lowered fuel rail pressure to 4600PSI until 5k RPM, and then 4900PSI after 6rpm. Additionally, we bumped up the oil pressure a bit.
same thing, track only. Could never get it to trigger during canyon or WOT, but mine would always trigger WOT mid turn on track.
some...
Can someone teach me more about brakes?
After my pure850 install, my car is about 10-20mph in straightaways and I can't believe how much additional braking that adds. An example is entering turn 2 at Laguna Seca, I manage to hit about 130mph vs 115mph stock turbo + e50 and I smoked my brakes in...
Pretty straight forward swap, although quite a bit of stuff needs to be removed to get access. Just had to swap over the clip on the fan shroud that holds the transmission cooler line.
differences seem to be:
- blade design (as already mentioned)
- shroud housing
- different # shroud flaps and...
I would give these a shot!
on the flip side, there has been more brake pad development for the 374x36 brake size. Before I was limited to just EBC blue pads which were completely toast after two track days... Like worn down to the backing plate toast.
While not advertised on their website, CSG...
just wanted to follow up in this since I just ordered a radiator fan.
You shouldn't have to change anything else out since the 850watt fan found in our cars shares the same exact wiring, fuse amp, and cut out relay as the 1000watt fan.
OEM core. I don’t think they make a cast version for 850 only 800.
if anyone has any advice on what to do to address the turbo glitter, I’m all ears. Seems like most people get away by several low mileage oil changes with no long lasting damage.
Anywhere between 25-28lbs of boost majority of the time. E40 flex tune, just dropped to e30 for track.
I really liked the turbo characteristics, but I don’t think I was really pushing this turbo that hard. WGDC ~85% at WOT. Oil pressure was 60-70PSI...
Did 15 track days this year… big willow, streets, buttonwillow, LVMS, Laguna seca, chuckwalla, and Charleston peak/spring mountain!
Last week, last session of the day, 2nd lap out at Laguna seca and my pure850 grenaded. Pure was very prompt about handling the rebuild under warranty so we’ll see...
What winter projects are you planning for the car?
on the flip side, I got around to doing the s58 injectors. Pretty easy, and you can definitely get by without using the special tool which is nice. When you hit your max injector window, what values are you looking at other than the flag?
Since I'm currently chasing this issue, I figured I will also share my research. Short story, for most people newly encountering this issue after adding power and/or HPFP, this is tuning related.
To preface, I had a tune finalized w/ stock HPFP and pure850. The stock pump was pushed to its...
Just get any ethanol kit that taps into the BDC. The BM3 kit uses the same continental sensor as any other ECA, but they use an anodized fitting to reduce the 3/8” fuel fitting on the ECA to the factory 5/16”. In other words, you’ll end up just removing the BM3 specific anodize fitting if you...
The cost of the transmission has been my main barrier into wanting to move to next power bracket. I’ve been enjoying the power of the new turbo, but it seems my tuner is constantly fighting the limitation of the HPFP in the midrange. It’s probably worth canning e40 with the stock fuel system for...
if you were to do this again, do you think the HPFP is a worthwhile upgrade for your goals, or would you have just done both the HPFP and injectors to give you more overhead?
Thank you for the reply
What is the association between HPFP angle, rail pressure, and rpm? I’ve seen rail pressures drop while the HPFP angle isn’t maxed, and I also see rail pressures increase past target and HPFP angle is several degrees below the max.
I’ve been under the impression that if...
