  1. Forge Catch Can

I wonder where the oil is being introduced from. Either the cans are bad at knocking down the oil (but there should be some residue) or oil is not being introduced through those lines.

  4. Fuel tank Recall NHTSA 20V700

I just checked my vin too and the only opened recall is the camera update. Can anyone confirm if the recall is registered on the NHTSA website so we are not getting false negatives?
  5. Bm3 bricked my car, I need help

I wonder if a tuner can even fix it, being locked and all. i am also wondering if you can just stick a new ecu in and be ok or of something needs to be done to register it to the car. im banking on the toyota people being incompetent in diagnosing a bmw and opting to just replace the ecu like...
  6. Bm3 bricked my car, I need help

  8. Bm3 bricked my car, I need help

What i am not understanding here is that it is a well known fact the 2021 ecus are locked. Why wasnt there a disclaimer on the seller website and why was there an attempt to do this with zero research
  9. Forge Catch Can

ok that is not the process. What they do when walnut blasting is to remove the intake and gain access to the back of the valves. They blast walnut shells at the back of the valves cleaning up the mess right before the cylinders. They dont blast the intercooler or anything. You still have oil in...
  10. Forge Catch Can

you should clarify for those less savvy that it is not that wmi stops the oil, it just cleans the valves so you dont get the carbon buildup. The car will still send the contaminated air into the cylinders So if your concern is buildup on the valves then wmi, if your concern is sending...
  11. Oil Catch cans

Mishimoto found that oil gets in from both the pcv and ccv but opted to go with the ccv because they said more oil came form there. Putting a can on both would be the way to stop it entirely but i am waiting to hear from someone who has tried it to see if either catch anything
  12. Forge Catch Can

in bmws the ccv is part of the pcv where the ccv is some kind of cyclone oil air separator. I am not sure how the whole system works in the supra
  13. Forge Catch Can

Oooh, yeah its focus is not contaminants, it is to open under certain pressure to stabilize the pressure. The oily mix is contaminated because in cases where the pressure is due to air making it past the piston rings, the air can have some gas or carbon in it.. in addition to the oil vapor it...
  14. Forge Catch Can

Potato potato? I dont know, i am stating what the system is for, it is to equalize pressure and vent pressure above a certain point. It has oil in it because there is oil sloshing around your crankcase and as it vents the air, the air is contaminated with some oil. I suspect removing the valve...
  15. Forge Catch Can

its for ventilation when the pressure in the crank case gets above a certain point, otherwise the crank case is a closed system. I am not sure what the consequences are for essentially having a hole in the crank case at all times. You probably could not detect a difference because you are unable...
  16. Forge Catch Can

Correct me if i am wrong but the valve should be closed until a certain pressure is reached at which point it opens. ... if it were reversed you are saying that it is blocked at all times?
  17. Forge Catch Can

Can the check valve be reversed? Any pics? is this for real?
  18. Is this common/normal?

venting should work in theory but this is also why there are very long threads about the mishimoto catch can (hooks into ccv) and the verus\forged\BMS cans (that hook into the pcv)
  19. Is this common/normal?

Yes and yes, its the PCV and the CCV. I made a mistake, the walnut blast is a service BMW does, and one that many BMW owners get every 80K-100k miles? somewhere in there, however, it is not a standard procedure in the Toyota manual. That accumulation will ultimately lead to carbon buildup on...
  20. Is this common/normal?

maybe but it has no drain ability so it is short lived.... also as walnut blasting is part of the maintenance schedule they anticipate that contaminated air getting to the valves and burning
