My simple view:
Saga (general) - current standard TE37
SL (light) - Lighter than Saga, no centre caps, sticker not machined logo.
Ultra (HP) - Big brakes (concave face instead of deeper dish rims), bead seat knurling to reduce tyre slippage, cosmetic machining on rims.
6061 (new design) -...
Hi all,
I changed my wheels to slightly wider ones, but still running the stock tyres atm (F 255/35R19, R 275/35R19). I am planning ahead for tyres and was wondering how others are going with their setups. My concerns are rubbing if the tyres are too large or stretching if too small.
I was...
Wow, I forgot about this thread.
Interesting... Since I have a Matte Grey with ppf.
Firstly, my understanding is that the ppf finish will alter the finish of your car, a gloss ppf will make matte grey gloss grey and a matte ppf will make a black car matte black for example. In the past (and...
It has been great, sound level is just loud enough that I am slightly concerned about local EPA laws (especially cold start) but exhaust note is fantastic, albeit with a slight drone. Can confirm no CEL, with OZ supra as well. Thanks for hooking me up with the AA DP.
Sorry, I should have...
Thanks, they'l look better when I change the centre cap, possibly the valve stems, lower the car and get thicker tyres...
They do cost more, but they are lighter than both the Ultras and SL for the same size. Was thrilled when I first lifted the rims 2 weeks or so ago.
I haven't seen these models posted up yet...
These are mine, shop will have professional photos later, which I'll replace these with.
19" TE37 ultra TRACK EDITION II (only available in Matte/Blast black)
Using stock valve stems (may switch in the future, once I figure out how much the tyre...
I installed the AA DP with HKS exhaust. It was easy, attach turbo clamp but don't tighten all the way attach catback clamp and alignment will be correct itself. Then just tighten bolts on both clamps. The sensor positions also help with alignment. TBH, if I reverted back to the stock bracket, I...
I didn't have any problems aligning the dp without the bracket since I found the clamp only fits when the pipes are flush (AA DP has no bracket). The bracket was convenient holding up the stock dp after the clamps were removed though (so the heavy thing didn't fall on my face when undoing the...
My understanding: The downpipes are much lighter than stock and so does not require the extra support. Adding the bracket would increase weight. The steel bracket can also be removed from the car to reduce weight further, I think its only other use is as a clip for the battery starter cable..
You will definitely get used to it as a daily, but it is worth a mention. Same issues as the A80 (and most sport coupes) to me. The tiny space between the B and C pillar and rear view are where I get reminded...Also you may need to adjust to the long bonnet if coming from a sedan. But it all...
135i coupe. No regrets, happy. I miss the M-Sport steering wheel the most out of everything... Although the back seat, visibility and boot are worth a mention for practicality.
Not in the US, but just a quick warning to get a low profile jack and a wheel chock (preferably 2). Clearance for the front jack point is quite low even on stock height. Otherwise, use the plastic "safety stand" points, but you need a thick cloth or a BMW jack adapter if you don't want to warp...
Stock downpipe/exhaust clamp: 25Nm/18ft-lb
Stock turbo/downpipe v-band: 19Nm/14ft-lb
No idea about your exhaust end clamps, but 65-70 ft-lb sounds high, careful not to over tighten bolts on clamps. You can pinch or disfigure the pipe.
Yeah, now is not a great time for importing parts unless the store already had it in stock. I have only dealt with carmodsaustralia form that list. I generally prefer purchasing from a local shop than online, because most parts seem to be ordered rather than in stock (despite what the website...
Since that is my exact setup... AA catted DP, HKS catback, installed in that order.
After the DP install, noise-wise, minimal change. Performance wise, small but noticeable change.
After exhaust install, noise-wise, note change and substantially louder, Performance wise, similarly small but...
Running AA catted DP with HKS exhaust. I can definitely confirm that the exhaust burbles/pop/crack on deceleration can get embarassing for the attention it generates... Making me use Sport mode less when daily driving. Not the case when I was just using the DP without catback exhaust.
A proper...
I would not be comfortable driving it with that alignment. The exhaust is just on hangers and likely to contact the differential... Maybe try loosening the clamps and rotating that left pipe clockwise a bit (it doesn't look aligned relative to the right pipe to me)... or check with AWE.
