  1. Project TA90 V2 - Street Modified Time Attack Build

I think after this one year, we learned there's a couple ways for you to achieve the goal of a well-balanced street/track hybrid. Honestly, the car doesn't need a lot! - Motorsport Hardware Lug Stud & Bolt Kit (Easy Wheels On & Off) - Counterspace Garage Brake pads (CP front, C11 rear for...
  2. Project TA90 V2 - Street Modified Time Attack Build

That was an idea as well, but that doesn't exactly help with ground clearance again. The car is gonna run over all sorts of curbs and bumps (just as it already does) so I'd like to minimize any issues on that front.
  3. Project TA90 V2 - Street Modified Time Attack Build

Titanium would be awesome for sure, but our main issue at the moment is that we're not able to find oval piping in titanium as readily available as we would with aluminium. Factory exhaust uses oval piping for ground clearance and aero, so we'd like to preserve that characteristic if possible...
  4. Project TA90 V2 - Street Modified Time Attack Build

The car actually just has a TF-Works muffler delete axleback with the factory exhaust from the downpipe back! We're working on a custom exhaust, either stainless or titanium... We are testing a new solution from SPL on the rear upper arm, I will be able to share more info when I get the ok...
  5. Project TA90 V2 - Street Modified Time Attack Build

From the very start of the development process, the goal of the AMS Garrett Turbo kit was to retain the factory wastegate, since it's so effective at maintaining accurate boost control. This is the main reason why we are going with the GTX Gen II turbos instead of the newer G30 series, as there...
  6. Project TA90 V2 - Street Modified Time Attack Build

Full Supra TA90 V2 Mod List (9/4/2020): Wheels & Tires: 275/35/18 Nankang CR-1 on 18x10.7 +38 Titan 7 TS-5 (For Gridlife) 295/35/18 Yokohama ADVAN A052 on 18x10.7 +38 Titan 7 TS-5 (For Global Time Attack) Suspensions: TA90 Spec Reinharte R2 Coilovers Eibach Front & Rear Sway Bar SPL...
  7. Project TA90 V2 - Street Modified Time Attack Build

I do apologize friends, this thread kinda went dead and I wasn't active on the forum a lot as soon as the racing season picked up... What is pretty cool is that we have been able to test a lot of aspects of the car in the last 6 months (Jesus time flew by quick), and the TA90 V2 has been...
  8. PhD Racing Supra A90 WINS Super Lap Battle COTA Street class!

Plenty of S2K stock rotor issues. I think I cracked a pair without too much effort. The Supra rotors are very beefy and I doubt you could get them to crack. I wasn't too impressed with the stock brake pad (even though they were okay for track use), but the rotors were pretty solid I think.
  9. PhD Racing Supra A90 WINS Super Lap Battle COTA Street class!

Also, this was on our new Neo Motorsport BBK, so it was not stock rotors. That said, the stock rotors lasted very well for me at Buttonwillow with just pads and fluids upgrade.
  10. PhD Racing Supra A90 WINS Super Lap Battle COTA Street class!

For COTA, I was on 295/35/18 Yokohama A052 with 18x10.7 +38 Titan 7 TS5 wheels, non-staggered front and rear. This will be our Global Time Attack setup, but the tire width exceeds Gridlife's 285 max width so we'll need another set of tires for the Gridlife season (provided it still goes on)
  11. Brake bleeding requires dealer?!

I want to say that the track surface is better, but there are still some very big bumps especially in Sector 1 in the Esses. Lots of sparks came off of our titanium splitter skid blocks haha.
  12. Lets see those 18" wheel setups!

At first I did Titan 7's squared setup on stock shocks & springs with 15 mm spacers in the front. Cleared the spring perch and no poke (pretty close tho), but probably would've added some spacer in the rear too if I was going for the looks. Switched to coilovers and did the new 18x10.7 +38...
  13. What did you do to your Supra today?

Just thought this was too cool not to share! Sweid-It custom Alcantara steering wheel.
  14. Brake bleeding requires dealer?!

Finally saw this thread! Sorry for taking this long! So while installing our new BBK, the master cylinder went dry on accident and it sucked in a lot of air. Took us a lot of bleeds but the brake pedal was very very unhappy. Like, 75% of it did nothing to stop the car. It was clear we got air...
  15. Black MKV from Qatar Track/Street

Great job guys. I love that the Supra A90 Track community is going strong worldwide and hunting GT3's down! On the shifter going to D issue, I experience it when the car is going through a high G-force left hander, in combination with taking a lot of curbs (vibrations). We'll be trying a few...
  16. Project TA90 V2 - Street Modified Time Attack Build

Main post is updated! Sorry for the lack of updates lately guys. We are waiting on a few partners to free up (i.e. AMS Performance is busy with TX2K) but we'll have a lot more improvements and testing days this month. Stay tuned.
  17. PhD Racing Supra A90 WINS Super Lap Battle COTA Street class!

Wasn't bad really. Cold start can be loud, but after the car get up to temp and the revs drop it was much nicer. Of course I don't have the adjustability with the valve and stuff but I didn't mind it on the street at all.
  18. PhD Racing Supra A90 WINS Super Lap Battle COTA Street class!

Haha. F1 is just too out of reach but there's still a lot I can go for! Thank you! Indeed still on stock turbo! Only mods for power is the AMS carbon intake (prototype), AMS catless downpipe, and AMS custom tune on EcuTek beta software. Thanks!
  19. PhD Racing Supra A90 WINS Super Lap Battle COTA Street class!

Second competition for our new Time Attack Supra A90, and up against some super fast locals and well-built Subaru's, we made up the traction deficit with high speed cornering and low end torque and acceleration. Took home first place in Street class by over 1 second, as well as setting a new...
  20. Project TA90 V2 - Street Modified Time Attack Build

Thank you everyone for the kind words! Cut to the chase, WE WON SUPER LAP BATTLE COTA!!! It was the most wonderful of weekends, because everything we did just seemed to work. We prepared a set of new RS*R Cancellers but the 4 front KW cancellers solved our issue, and we had zero traction...
