Not if only the launch editions come with red interiors.. Looks prettier in magazines and videos. Not sure what happens to press cars after, do they all get smashed anyway? Don't think these are part of the normal, serialized launch cars but I could be wrong :dunno: we'll know soon enough
Hahaha yeah I remember seeing your 1st and 3rd pic before and thinking "oh hey that's a knee bolster," but after I replied I google searched and found something similar to your 2nd pic and thought, "hm.. that's not right.." lol
I can't imagine they have built production models before building pre-production press-testing models. I think these are being shipped out for press journalists to sample in the coming weeks.
True. I don't think they designed your knees to go up all the way to the steering wheel :dunno: I think design wise it is supposed to evoke the "slingshot" look of the FT-1, where everything the driver needs is actually just cocooned within the area of the seat and the steering wheel
My dealer told me they are starting production in May, which means after shipping etc they should arrive around July/August, which aligns with the two dates we've heard. This is coming from Longo Toyota in California.
That is new info! I have my heart set on Launch specifically for the red interior. All of the preproduction models we have seen thus far have the black interior. Really hoping this is true.
The sloped wall by the shifter is there for you to use as a knee bolster during cornering. It is the...
Came across this website with the design story behind the MKV. Seems like an interesting story but it is behind a paywall. They did post this alternative design onto Instagram though...
:puke:
Ok... hear me out.
The Supra is a 2 door sports car with 335hp/365ft.lb.tq that does 0-60 in 4.1 seconds. It has a heads-up display, Apple CarPlay, JBL audio and Drivers Assistance. It gets 26mpg. It will cost $49-55k and will be available sometime this summer.
The Model 3 (let's talk about...
The lack of info is definitely frustrating.
Also find it interesting that they would start making customer cars before they release any for press reviews. Unless these “launch editions” are the press cars.
Aftermarket systems that work with stock dampers, I think, simply means lowering springs.
The MT article states coilovers will need black boxes to work ala stock, or trick the ECU, like you mentioned.
Per the MT article:
"Aftermarket suspension systems can work with the stock electronic dampers, but performance gains will be smaller... Damper or coil-over installations will likely require a black-box interface or similar integration to restore the functionality of the ride control system."
Anyone know why they decided to make this part black instead of continuing the carbon fiber from the console?
More importantly, who will be the first company to make this aftermarket part and can I get royalties by way of free sample? :p
