If your reputable tuner has experience on BMW or has tuned a few of these sure, why not use the local guy... But even the OTS maps that the custom tuners offer are very dialed in. I had an OTS map, a custom dyno tune, and street revision maps and they all performed very good.
I wouldnt...
There are a few running stock turbo + e50 + nitrous and I think 9.4x is the record for that combo. If you follow the a9x drag group on Facebook there are quite a few guys that run it.
here's one just to give you an idea. I've spoke with him at the track and does alot of grudge racing where...
If you are looking for someone to unlock and tune in person, Mikey Botti will be traveling to Cali in November. Check out Gustavoo_MK5 on instagram since I believe he is coordinating the tuning session if you are interested.
*edit* Another option. If you want to get tuned, Marin Nelson...
Ecutek hands down would be my choice. The fastest a90 use ecutek and if you want full flex fuel or decide to add port injection and the reflex controller Ecutek is gonna be the only way to go. Visconti flex fuel kit integrates with Ecutek, not sure about the zeitronix flex kit, it might only...
even on the street, these drag radials have a substantial difference in grip. Just looks a little odd unless its matching wheels front/rear, but I love the meaty rear tire look with a 17" DR.
I know some of the film companies suntek, xpel, 3m etc have different patterns, but that gap from the lower grille should have been unacceptable from the start. Glad to know they fixed it.
Yeah, if you are willing to give up some of the dry grip for good wet grip Michelin Pilot 4s has been awesome for me. 18k miles on mine and they still have roughly half tread, really good for Florida summers with the daily downpour. Previous owner of those wheels only drove on weekends anyways...
and that's just the bigger name shops. There Ostar, Kings performance, PSI, etc... Lots of shops to choose from that can handle a spring install in that area for sure.
stick with those NT05. They should be better than the Michelin Pilot 4s for dry grip, now rain would be another story. The dude that owned them prior didnt have any issues until he turned up his pure800 car, so those tires will hold an e50 tuned supra.
Oh yeah, that's a long haul then... I've heard that there are a few in Jacksonville that can unlock for you as well, but I'll have to confirm. I know Mase Engineering can bench unlock and bench flash but he does not use MHD/BM3/MG or ecutek to tune.
If you are in Florida, Titan Motorsports can perform the unlock for you. Now if you're not opposed to shipping Twisted tuning, MarinTuned and a few other can do it as well.
ouch. Unless your installer does paint touch ups, you should probably smooth it down and dab some touch up paint on it.
I can tell you that any imperfection under the PPF seemed to look magnified when I did it on my old car.
