LOL I forgot all about that thread, thanks! I guess I should start venturing out beyond just this thread again. :coffee:

ORLY? Link, plz? TBH I haven't priced rotors for this car. My AP rings are 10x that..

The PMU work well at VIR, as long as you can get them bedded. ? It happens! The esses to T10 are high risk/high reward and sketchy AF without real aero. I've gone off after a bad entry -- T8a sent me airborne and kicked me to the right straight into the grass. And I've about gone off at...

2:14 all stock is good! Yep, only change since CMP is the PMU front pads. The SC3s have like 6 days on them at this point but seem to be hanging in ok. There's a lot of time left on the table, especially in the esses through oak tree, but I need some more seat time to push. It took a lot...

Relaxing scenic tour of VIRginia International Raceway:
  6. Race Tracking Your Supra - Information exchange

I have all of the factory ducting which works really well at high speed/high airflow tracks like VIR. At CMP in the summer there's just not enough. I purposely ran those rotors 2 - 3 sessions more than I should have -- for science ? -- to learn the practical limit. Ended up slightly beyond...

Good info. I may give these a whirl depending on how the PMU hold up at the CMP torture test. On my C7Z I ran Girodisc GP40, which per KNS is the same pad as CSG, and they worked well at VIR. The following weekend I was able to fade them at CMP... ? IMO the compound is much better suited...

I've never had an issue mixing pad compounds; if I bought new rotors every time I tried a different pad I'd be broke(r).. ? FAFO, I guess.. And I typically don't replace rotors until I delete the slots. :headbang: My handiwork at CMP:
  9. Race Tracking Your Supra - Information exchange

Pretty similar here. I've tracked 6 cars and over a dozen different pad brands/combos and have never had a single issue with a HARD bed on the street and worst case a short first session on a new combo to seal the deal. Ferodo, Carbotech, Cobalt, EBC, Powerstop, etc.. The PMU are the only pad...
  10. Race Tracking Your Supra - Information exchange

So bit of an update. My wife is driving the car and I told her to power through and REALLY get after the brakes, beyond the limits of good taste. The following session the shudder has pretty much cleared up so seems they're finally properly bedded. Will see how they behave the rest of the...
  11. Race Tracking Your Supra - Information exchange

I bedded them hard on the street same as I have for every other track pad I've ever run. Different brands, compounds, etc.. and never a single issue until now. So that alone makes them a shitty option, IMO. I'm not sanding or resurfacing rotors just to run a cheap pad.

Thanks. There's no heat checking, spots or even smear on the rotor and they are perfectly fine when cold. Once they get some heat they start shuddering and just get worse and worse.. worst pad I've ever run on any car to date. ?
  13. Race Tracking Your Supra - Information exchange

Major shudder issues at VIR with the PMU Club Racers. I bedded them on the street and they felt fine. Midway through the first session and they are rattling the car apart. Worse on the 2nd session. Any suggestions before I swap the stock pads and toss these in the dumpster?
  14. DIY Clutch Delay Valve (CDV) Removal

Yes, but be mindful of keeping the reservoir topped off. The clutch feed line is pretty high up on the reservoir and if the fluid level drops to or below it you will push air into the line.

I'd start with a better tire and seat time.
  16. New Streetable Hoosier

    ^^ 315/30/18 all around.
  17. Anyone running a 19x10 square setup? Tire choices? Conti ECF 265?

Another vote for ECF. Perfect dual duty tire that will survive street miles between track days and works ok in the wet.
  18. New Streetable Hoosier

Allen is my hero. I'm curious what size he was running since his previous setup was square and much narrower than you would typically run on a C7 to comport with class rules.
  19. New Streetable Hoosier

I've run ECF on both my C8 and C7Z. In my experience ECF are a great dual purpose tire - they wear like iron, fairly consistent throughout a session and work ok in the wet. I got something like 40+ cycles out of a set still with some tread remaining, but at that point they were so off pace it...
  20. New Streetable Hoosier

I'm sure.. Not apples to apples since 19 vs 18 but for reference (and my own curiosity): Pirelli DHF scrubs: 305/660/18 22.4lb 325/680/18 = 23.6lbs
