You can definitely feel it. On the launch it completely falls on its face, though I believe this can be partially solved with a different launch technique. It also bucks pretty hard on the shift which you can see in the logs. That too I think can be partially solved with the boost shift...
No, seems to be related to heat soak. When I arrived I didn't let the car cool down at all. No one was running so I immediately went to tech and got in the lanes and hot-lapped. There were a few more degrees of ignition advance on the last 3 due to better AIT hence the MPH diff. Passes 2 and...
Correct, no tune yet. And no CEL with a catted dp, FWIW. I've found E30 up to E40 blends work extremely well and the DME trims for it just fine. Mid 30's seems to be the sweet spot; at 40 you're right on the edge of maxing trims and getting a lean code.
This setup on a tire requires...
First time out with the car to get some baseline numbers and start figuring out the 60'. Conditions were not ideal ~2000' DA and a gnarly headwind/crosswind but the track was empty and hooking, so can't complain. Goal was 11.5 or better but mostly concerned with getting data and seat time...
Is Town & Country where you tried first? An acquaintance of mine spoke very highly of the Supra tech there, but I have no first hand experience. I lowkey despise Hendrick for a number of generally petty things, but glad to hear you had no issue. I have a similar set of mods and have been...
Not without more WHP. You're about 5MPH shy of being able to 60' your way into the 9's. Nice result otherwise, but from where you are to 9's is a big leap.
The JDM Proto spec, limited to 240 units, is ~61k USD. Historically JDM pricing is a bit higher than US for the equivalent model so it's a fairly safe assumption that's the absolute upper bound for MSRP.
Cooling mods should be the priority, IMO. Consistency with changing DA but more importantly safety; especially at that power on the stock block. The only time I've ever hurt a motor was getting greedy at the 1/2 mile and turning a willful blind eye to IATs. A kill-mode tune that would live...
Understandable -- 1/2 mile data gathering is priceless. Curious how IATs looked on the big end with no cooling mods. I'd say it's every bit of 700WHP on a Dynojet. It took ~750WHP to go 171 in a less efficient car (MKIV 6sp) in fair DA. 1/2 mile is a slippery slope; I was content with mid...
Congrats on the 170+ curious to know what this setup dynos for comparison's sake. Any Dragy data from the event?
The NFZ events used to be a rolling start with a good amount of rollout before breaking the beams but I think they changed the format to a standing start? Strong runs either way...
What WHP is your setup? In my experience 170's takes an honest 700WHP, minimum, but there are a lot of factors to consider. If you have any 1/4 mile data you can take the back half MPH gain and add that to your 1/4 mile trap to get a rough guesstimate.
It likely won't make a meaningful difference in sound. That said, if it's a concern those OG SMF filters are absolutely horrendous at actually filtering, hence why they 'flow' well. Back in the day the media had a tendency to get brittle from heat and flake off killing countless compressor...
