I am glad to see more interest in the Toyota Nasa GR driving experience which now has all the GR cars. Supra, Gr86, Corolla etc. I am a NASA instructor for Arizona region and a Supra owner. So if there are any of you on the fence about doing your first track day in Az just reach out. Look...
NASA run groups. - high performance driver education. level 1 is beginner, level 4 advanced. Then is TT for time trial and then race group. So depends on the level he is running. If he is just driving to the track and at more beginner speeds and levels. Then does need a full track pad. If...
I agree the hb+ are a good option. So no one talks about power stop z26. These are street pads but above stock. Not too pricy to try. If you are still at hpde 1 or 2 levels these could be an option. Past those levels then would go with hb+ until you out run the heat range in those but would then...
I have both element and Hs3. I used the element on a friends car and it saved it from what would have been a big fire and probably a total loss on his gti race car with a fuel fire over the gas tank after a race track contact with another car broke the fuel neck on the tank. Here is a pic of...
So I will jump in on tires and wear. I now am on my 18 th set of different tires and many different alignments and camber settings. Trying to get even tread wear down to the cords to get as much out of them as possible. Have used heat gun for tire temps from outside center and insides. I am...
I went with Apex. 18”. They are made for Supra and everything fits including big brake kits. They are a little over $400 each so not sure if is considered cheap but you defiantly want a good rim that will hold up to the track.
I would also suggest looking at all the control arm bushings and bolts. If you are getting on the brakes and there is play in one of them it can cause the wheel to move slightly which then could pull in that direction. This could especially be true on the rubber ones that could be worn.
agree those are great pads so then would think it could be something With master cylinder/brake boost/Abs controls etc. Please let us know what you find out.
I had experienced something similar with some of the street/track level pads as they out ran their operating temp ranges. What pads are you running and what are their temp ranges.
I agree that you need to find the right instructor preferably from TT group. I instruct, for all the local clubs. NASA,PCA (have national instructor certification) Proauto as well as a national teen safety driving school (BRAKES) and took Nasa comp school all with the Supra, so have provisional...
As I mentioned in other threads I went down the big brake path trying to manage heat and cracking of front rotors. So if you are referring to soft pedal for “fatigue” then need to look at fluid and pads first. You have to bleed fluid more frequently especially on fronts if you get them hot. All...
Great info by razorlab. I track rotor duration by number of track day events I can get out of them. Fronts have been the issue. As you get to faster tires/ race compound then you can go in deeper / brake later. So really depends on driving levels and tires. I have cracked front rotors in as...
I will just add that I have a studio rsr role bar exactly for this purpose. I would not classify it as bad. They all are bolt in role bars. Bends and stubs are all acceptable for NASA etc and floor mounts are solid. I have 6 point sparco harness and seat. 4 eye bolts with proper backing plate on...
Did you check the actual seat belt tensioner. There is a wire on them when the airbag goes off it actually l locks the tensioner on the belt. It is not something that should come off and you have to remove the plastic interior covers to get to where it connects. Something to look at as I think...
