Agreed! The only downsides about the change was that my car had to be taken by a dealership employee to the Collision Center that is a few miles away. My total time waiting was about 5 hours. I did point out to the service advisor that the front Toyota emblem has some cracks around its...
Note: These photos make it look like the letters are shifted to the left, but when looking at then straight-on, they are centered with the Toyota badge.
I had the ScanGauge setup this way in my Mazda 3.
The display unit sat in the lower center area of the console (like the Supra's wireless charging area). The cable exits to the right and needs to pass behind the charging area and out the opposite end. I can then wire tie the cable to something...
Yes, there's a big difference between a 22-minute drive and an hour drive. If I had to take an hour-long drive to work, I'd have something with an interior noise level of 66 or lower. Perhaps a Lexus LC500h would work when fuel is > $5/gallon.
I just recently looked at the panels that probably need to be removed if I am to snake the ScanGauge cable underneath the center console and over to the OBD II port.
Has anyone done this? This assembly image seems to show that there are no fasteners. Then again, this may be the wrong assembly...
So you're getting too old but you need a daily to drive to work every day? I retired two years ago and "don't need no stinking daily". However, when I was going to work every day, I was happy to drive my Miata or other car. Work was 22 minutes away with no traffic at 6 AM. It was a fun drive...
Break-in update: 600 miles (halfway there) after almost 4 weeks
Notes:
While I allowed a friend to drive the car (with me in the car), he was told not to use SPORT mode. Reason: The transmission can easily cause revs to (almost) get away from me, including times when it will hang at 4000 rpm as...
Sometimes you need to conserve ready-cash for emergencies and pay off an auto loan with SS or a pension. When interest rates are low, borrowing money is often the better choice of your cash is being invested. Of course, cash is currently a better option unless you are pulling it out of pre-tax...
I wanted to buy from a dealership that was closer but they would not budge on ADM. If I were you, I would multi-task-search. It certainly cannot hurt.
The overhang that is part of the Supra's roof is what taller guys tend to dislike. One of my former coworkes (6' tall) sat in my car today and commented that he doesn't like the shape of the roof due to its propensity to hit his head. A C7 would not solicit that type of comment. But yes, some...
When it comes to accommodating large and tall drivers, the C7 is more comfortable, based upon many comments I've heard among lots of C5, C6, and C7 owners. There are 6'2" guys who drive Miatas, but they need to lower the seats and tilt them back.
