Update: Raised Supra to level, removed fill plug after 1 hour, need to buy and add fluid.
The leak seems to be coming from the driver's side axle. Leakage is not excessive (1-3 drops).
I drove my car on Sunday and yesterday for a total of about 30 miles. While I haven't looked closely at the diff, I cannot see any signs of fluid on it or on the garage floor from the back view. We've been having lots of rain over here, so my drives have been limited. There is a cars&coffee, 45...
I'm sorry to see that. What a shame. I was on the highway with my wife's vehicle for a total of an hour, today. During that time, I was almost rammed twice while attempting to slide into an open slot.
This is why I despise driving during rush-hour traffic when everyone is in a hurry to get home.
I guess your and my definition of GT differ in that my version is very quiet. My Supra on the highway at 80 MPH is not what I'd call quiet. It is quieter than my MX5, but the LC500 and the Jag F-Type were a more sound-insulated experience.
Did you compare their prices? (Fastest LC vs fastest F-Type) Obviously, the Supra is the better bang for the buck in stock form on VIR.
Grand Touring cars are typically very quiet on the highway, say, 65 db or so. The noise levels of both the LC and F-Type were similar on the highway at 75 mph.
All Lightning lap vehicles are bone stock, although some manufacturers offer track tires as an option or within an option package. They can make a significant difference.
It did feel heavy for a sportscar. And if you look at its Lightning lap time, it falls short of the Supra's by 2 seconds and 15 places on the rankings table.
It's more of a GT car than a racer in my opinion, but compare your Supra to one and let us know which one you prefer.
I rented a 2018 LC500, a few years ago, and then rented a Jaguar F-type. They are very similar in quietness, ride, handling and cost when new (at the high trim level of Jag).
I think that if I were much wealthier and had more garage space, I'd even consider the LC500h which gets superior fuel...
...always heart-breaking! I've done that with my MX5's side view mirror against the left garage door frame. Thankfully, it mostly buffed out.
Maybe that was a sign for you to rearrange the stuff in your garage.
