Oh...and another quick thought. I've learned this the hard way. Aside from turning a rotor on a lathe, not a whole lot else you can do at home (wire wheel, emery cloth, etc.) really cleans the surface of a used rotor sufficiently. Sure, you can get rid of some surface rust and...

I get where Bryan is coming from, as we've had a LOT of "no matter what I do to bed in the PMu pads, I still get shudder" commentary over the last few months, and Bryan has consistently said that if you think you've bedded them in properly...bed them in some more. I think it's safe to say...

This has been my rule for the last couple of cars - if I'm changing pad compounds, I'm changing rotors. You don't "have" to do that, but I don't want to think about it. It sounds like the PMu Club Racer's aren't happy with another compound in the rotor - moreso than others.

I'm fairly close in setup to you. Verus Camber plates, AFe sways, stock springs. My $.02 My car is a little pushy with the front and rear AFe bars, both set to the middle hole. I can initiate rotation, but it is by no means tail happy. My guess is that AFe front and stock rear would push...

You are correct, I am wrong...you can set preload with adjustable end links. Edit: Generally you don't want preload on a sway bar. That's why you're supposed to tighten end links when the car is back on the ground and the suspension is loaded with the car's weight.

They won't provide any additional roll stiffness, they're just a little more direct because of the spherical ends...With OEM sways it would be REALLY hard to determine a tangible improvement to handling. They will be noisier, though. Your real driver is the ability to adjust the end link...

^^^^A very useful tool^^^^ I don't have a Catalyst, but I used a friend's on my first OLOA in '22. Video quality was excellent, having the analytics right there, available immediately after the session was really nice. Since the time trial sessions are so short, it's not enough laps to get...

I had CG-Lock devices back in the day. I sold mine years ago, and I believe the company is no more. However, there are tons of options for devices folks use to synch in child seats that can be adapted. I scoot the seat back a couple of inches, pull the seatbelt to lock, hold in place, and...

I had an RX-8 on '05-'06 that I tracked in nearly stock form. The seats do indeed suck on track. I had one of those seatbelt lock devices that helped, but at the end of every weekend, my left knee was SORE from bracing myself in the car.

It's a 100% totally natural reaction to do a few events at the beginning of your track driving career and start a laundry list of stuff that you "must" do the car. I'm happy you asked...we probably saved you some $.

I"m with Bryan...brake pads, brake pads, brake pads. This platform has EXCELLENT brakes until you get to silly power levels. I strongly recommend against a BBK at this point in the car's development. Why coilovers? Well...let's break down a few things at are usually glossed over. 1. Any...

My $.02 on cramming as much wheel and tire under the car as possible...It's about the Goldilocks "just right" combo of width, weight, and price for me. - Absolutely must have same wheel front and back. I swap tires around frequently to squeeze every bit of wear out of track tires. - If I...

Another data point: Stock springs, Verus camber plates, 18x10.5 +35 w/ 275s, 15mm spacers (front and back), pretty flush, but fronts stick out a little. That equates to a +20. + 18 will stick out beyond the fenders a little, even with coilovers and a lot of camber.

I know the coating Zimmerman uses is really nothing but rust protection for shipping/storage. It's gone immediately, no gunking up the pads in my experience.

Yeah, I've put myself on the FCP Euro track. Now I have store credit after a round of buy/return, it makes sense to buy from them again...I'm also doing SRF through them. The shipping back prices do SUCK, though. I agree, dollar for dollar, Rock Auto probably comes out cheaper. The only...

Not sure how to really reply to this one. It seems like apples to oranges with a different pad (RSL1) on just the rear of the car, and we don't know what's on the front of the car. Lots of variables in play. Looking at your profile, if you're a street mod car, you're probably making lot more...

I empathize...I have quite a few laps at VIR and a couple of offs as well. My very first event, I went off in South Bend to the RIGHT. Down the hill and what felt like half way across that field between the two track sections. Car was fine, but once we got into the pits after that...

Yeah, you weren't kidding about "deleting the slots." That's getting your money's worth out of the rotor rings. At least the hats are re-usable. Are you running some kind of ducting to the caliper/rotor on the C7Z? All the front rotors on my LeMons Mustang end up cracking in a...

Has anyone else here run the ME20, or are you doing like I did for the RSL29 and taking one for the team?
