In the "Endurance 200s" I can talk about a couple of tires.
- Conti ECS (the newer 02 version that came out fall '22)
Quiet on the street, excellent in the rain, very good tire wear/durability, "OK" for feel on turn in and under high grip situations, pure mechanical grip just isn't that great...
Not trying to start a fight here, nor did I intend to attack you, or you providing the requested data to the OP. More of a statement of the perceived (by some of us, myself included) overuse of TTY fasteners on this car.
My intended message - I would not be afraid to use that bolt multiple...
Yeah...using torque to yield fasteners on a friggin' undertray panel and various plastic bits underneath the car is hilarious. Someone at the vendor who sells the TTY fasteners to BMW made a few extra bucks on that deal.
I'm like ZRK - I've taken them off and reinstalled them several times...
I'm running Castrol SRF for fluid, godawful expensive, but has a higher wet boiling point than just about anything else...so you can keep it in the car longer without flushes.
Pads - I also went with CSG after getting a bunch of Project Mu recommendations here. They are also really friggin'...
RE driving shoes - 2 approaches:
- if you don't plan on moving to some kind of racing (time trials, endurance, etc.) that requires fire-resistant shoes, wrestling shoes are your jam. They suck to wear all day, but they have tons of pedal feel. I have a 25 y/o pair of Asics that I bought when I...
To close this thread out...and if someone searches on:
binding in steering
pulling to the left
ping noise from drivers side
Nutshell, operator error when installing Verus Engineering camber plates. I looked at my OEM top hats and realized that I didn't install the full stack of shims, seals...
Definitely operator error here - I need to replace that torrington/thrust bearing that is just below the front strut top hat because I damaged mine and now half of the ball bearings have skipped town.
I've looked at the Toyota parts site to see the front suspension take-apart, but I can't find...
This has a distinct "something is broken or loose in the front suspension" sound to it. Get the front end of the car up on jackstands and start poking around immediately. Start with the easy stuff (sway bar end links), check every nut and bolt for the control arms, struts, check all the...

Nutshell, Zimmeman sells 1 piece and 2 piece rotors for the Supra...
I just ran out to the garage...my factory rotors do NOT have painted centers. I had an old-age moment and confused that with another car I had. The vanes are not painted either.
The Zimm 1-piece come with this anti-corrosion coating, including on the swept surfaces. The coating on the...
OEM, as in absolute, factory-matching Brembos (painted centers, etc.)? Maybe a BMW site would offer them, but I can't imagine they'd be any cheaper than Toyota.
Numerous aftermarket parts vendors (FCP Euro, etc.) that sell Zimmerman and other quality vendors...but if you want factory, good...
You can still buy Hawk blues...I have a set for my LeMons Mustang as a failsafe if I can't find anything else. That being said, run Hawk Blues when there is no other viable option. They are atrocious when cold, the dust will rust on your wheels in about 5 minutes, and they don't last all that...
$5700...shite. Yeah, I don't do enough events to justify the OpenTrack deal. I sure as h3ll am not insuring my LeMons foxbody. I'll turn more laps in that than I will in Supra.
I can't speak for Hagerty, but Lockton Affinity track insurance DOES have an optional Time Trial rider on their policies. I used Lockton for all my OneLap coverage this year. Since I had the time trial rider, I don't know the difference between the base HPDE insurance and the HPDE+TT. I had...
Thoughts on brake pads after One Lap:
- I ran the CSG 21 (front) and the CSG 11 (rear)
- No more/no less dusty than other track pads
- After 5000 combined street/track miles, there is plenty of pad left, front and rear
- Initial bite on the street is fine. They are a lot less noisy on the...
One more thing...at the lunch/awards banquet after the skidpad, I sat down at a table with James Clay (Bimmerworld owner, pro driver), and he asked me some questions about the car, as they had talked to all the Supra teams during the week. He's considering if he wants to start working with the...
