"On paper" it was a reasonably logical assessment at the time. The 370 has an obvious TQ deficit, but that can play out in different ways. Much of the fuckery could've been avoided if Toyota didn't sandbag us with the BS HP/TQ specs.
Ehh.. If only that were true.. Elaborate PCV, EGR, etc.. solutions are developed by OEM's purely for emissions requirements. Emissions aside, short or long term, there is absolutely zero benefit to recirculating oil mist and hot exhaust gases back into the intake. It's ultimately detrimental...
That render looks more like a (poorly done) attempt at melding a C4 Corvette dash. It looks funky in part because it doesn't jive at all with the untouched passenger side. FWIW, the C7's interior is by far the best modern representation of the drive-centric fighter jet cockpit, IMO.

My assessment: He was not capable of separating his wild opinions and emotions from facts, and when called out on his BS he had a tantrum or five. Mods intervened, threads/posts were deleted. He then posted a forum auto-obituary here and now he's back over on Supraforums commenting...
Yeah... That's not at all how that works. HP and TQ always intersect at 5252; perhaps you should look up the formula. In WinPEP you can adjust the axes however you see fit to compare the curves; the standard is to have both on the same scale, though (which means they'll cross at 5252, per the...
A lot of the hate could have easily been mitigated by Toyota advertising the actual numbers out the gate vs. sandbagging. I'm sure there are some 'relationship' factors playing into this... Advertised specs or otherwise, my concern is almost entirely around the longer-term with respect to...
Annoyed that 1) they don't show the full graph and 2) HP and TQ are scaled differently (otherwise HP/TQ would intersect at 5252). Overall very interesting results, though..! I'm not at all surprised at the WHP, based on the 113MPH trap speed. The peak TQ number is really impressive...
Considering more than a few bone stock examples have put down over 300WHP, that ET and trap is certainly feasible, especially in good DA at a real drag strip. Back then much of the acceleration testing was not done at a drag strip, which can really skews things -- no roll out, questionable...
Ah.. 1993 C&D. The 149' C&D record was a few years later --- maybe a 1997 issue? There's nothing mechanically that would have changed from 93-97 that would have influenced braking, so the difference must have been the surface they tested on and/or how the test was conducted. It's possible the...
So which bad-touch comment is it that invoked your tirade? o_O Honestly I can't say I fundamentally disagree with any of his comments, for what they are; they're certainly not unique nor uncommon among a tangible percentage of enthusiasts. He's basically calling a spade a spade --...
Just noticed the quoted 70-0 braking at 160' for the MKIV is incorrect (or at least not canon) --- it was 149' which is noteworthy as it held the record until 2004 when the Porsche GT finally dethroned it by 3'.
Ehh.. It's a driver's race. I've personally watched a '17 GT350 run back to back 12.1 - 12.3 @ 118MPH showroom-stock in pretty terrible DA (summer evening, probably ~1600+' DA). They're very difficult to launch, but a driver with some seat time will chip their way down into the 11's as the MPH...
